Here we go. Both the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Gun Owners of America (GOA) are making a push to force a vote on nationwide concealed carry reciprocity. Not just a vote “eventually,” but a vote before the election.
The concept is very simple. If you are allowed to carry a concealed weapon in your home state, then you are allowed to carry one in every state. Whether you are licensed to carry or live in a constitutional carry state, which Missouri just became today, your right should exist nationwide.
When the 2nd Amendment says that individual Americans have a right to bear (carry) arms, there’s no footnote that says ‘only in their state of residence.’
Just like you have the right to pray across state lines, your right to carry a gun for self defense applies nationwide as well.
The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act now has 216 co-sponsors. Do you understand what that means? It takes 218 votes to get a bill passed in the House of Representatives. They just need to pick up two more votes!
Chuck Grassley, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has now co-sponsored the companion legislation as well. He gets to decide whether it moves forward and it looks like he made that decision…

Personally, I believe that the 2nd Amendment to the constitution is the only handgun permit I should need. I was overjoyed to see that the Missouri legislature just overrode the Democrat Governor’s veto and made the State of Missouri the 11th state in the country to adopt constitutional carry.
Essentially what that means is if you are legally allowed to own a gun, then you are legally allowed to carry that gun.
This is obviously the trend, not just in one particular region but nationwide. From Alaska to Kansas to Missouri to Vermont, and states in between, permitless carry is starting to catch on.
And I believe we will get there. But the easiest way to get there is to pass this legislation.
Right now, states like New York and New Jersey won’t let civilians carry unless they are law enforcement or high-dollar VIPs. This legislation would force these states to accept concealed carry permits from around the country, thus forcing them to extend the right to their own citizens. Nearly 25% of Americans live in states where the right to bear arms either doesn’t exist or is regulated to the point of a de facto ban.
Just this year, the 9th Circuit Appeals Court ruled that even though the Constitution protects an American’s right to bear arms, and even though the Supreme Court has defined “bear arms” to mean “carry firearms,” the Court kept California’s bans on both concealed and open carry in place.
Only a liberal bending over backwards to legislate from the bench would arrive at logic that affirms a right to carry but allows for every means of carrying to be banned.
This is the reality that tens of millions of Americans face on a daily basis. With what just happened last night in Missouri, we have an opening to expand concealed carry nationwide.
This is worth fighting for. Stand up and right now and DEMAND that concealed carry reciprocity be made a priority! Send your FaxBlast to Congress here!
We can hope for these liberal justices to come to their senses (won’t happen) and we should certainly fight to make sure that the next Supreme Court justice is conservative and pro-2nd Amendment.
But it could take years for another concealed carry case to make it to the Supreme Court and I am unwilling to let 9 unelected men and women in robes decide the fate of this issue.
If we pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, it’s over. Congress has the authority to do this. In the 2000s, Congress passed the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act, essentially making a police officer’s concealed carry permits valid nationwide.
It is time to open that concept up to all law-abiding Americans, regardless of where they live. This common-sense legislation is still waiting for a committee hearing. It is slated to be heard in the Judiciary Committees. The Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Grassley, has co-sponsored the legislation.
The votes are there in the House for passage and to move it through Committee in the Senate. All that is missing is pressure from Patriots like YOU!
The 2nd Amendment doesn’t just apply inside your home. It applies beyond your driveway. And your right to carry doesn’t end at the state line… it exists in every state.
We have Appeals Court bending over backwards to uphold concealed carry bans. We cannot afford having the Supreme Court uphold them. Only Congress can settle this and only YOU can force Congress to act!
