Fellow Conservative,
This is it. Tomorrow, the United States Senate will vote on four gun control bills. Two bills are sponsored by anti-gun Democrats and two bills are sponsored by so-called “conservatives.”
The issues at hand, as you well know, are whether the government should keep records of all gun transfers and whether the FBI should have the power to use such a database to arbitrarily suspend someone’s constitutional rights.
That is what is being proposed. Democrats want to give the government to keep a database of gun transfers and use such a database to disarm Americans if a law enforcement officer “suspects” the person might be a terrorist. Unfortunately, Republicans seem all too willing to comply with their demands.
Currently, our justice system requires a prosecutor to prove someone is a criminal beyond a reasonable doubt before disarming them. Barack Obama, the Democrats, and some turncoat Republicans want to reverse that and allow the government to disarm YOU without proving anything.
Dianne Feinstein has made a career of trying to disarm you and millions of other Americans. She authored the original so-called “assault weapons ban” and has attempted to take away your guns yearly ever since.
Her “No Fly, No Buy” bill is arguably the most egregious piece of unconstitutional legislation she has ever put forward, and that is saying something given her history.
Her legislation would not only ban Americans from owning guns because law enforcement is investigating them, but would also block people from owning guns if they had been investigated any time within a five year period.
So much for “innocent until proven guilty.”
The Democrats want our justice system to be governed by a principle of “guilty until proven innocent for five years…”
So, if someone gives the FBI an anonymous tip that you are a terrorist, even though you aren’t, these gun-grabbers want to be able to stop you from owning or buying a gun until you prove you are innocent. Then they want to make you jump through hoops and wait days for approval each time you buy a gun for the next five years.
It’s absolutely ludicrous.
Every American is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt before a jury of their peers or an impartial judge.
The Federal government has NO right to force you to register your guns and they have NO right to disarm you based on the lowest standard of proof (reasonable suspicion).
We need to kill these bills, not just the Democrats’ suggestions but also the Republicans’ bills.
These bills aren’t going through a lengthy committee process. They aren’t being fully debated. They are being rushed to the floor and voted on as amendments to non-germane spending bills.
Republicans won’t lift a finger to defund Obama’s amnesty or get a special prosecutor to go after Hillary Clinton, but they’re more than willing to use the power of the purse to make it harder for you to defend yourself...
Pathetic!
There is no “compromise” to be had. If the Obama administration doesn’t want suspected terrorists to have guns that are under investigation, then they need to charge them with crimes and go through the judicial system.
Our current gun laws more than adequately deal with how to disarm a suspected terrorist: charge them and ask for them to be remanded without bail. Then, upon conviction, they lose their rights to own a gun.
The solution is NOT to turn our entire judicial system on its head and presume people are guilty until proven innocent.
No American should have to hire a lawyer to prove that they deserve Constitutional rights when they haven’t even been charged with a crime. Period. There is no “compromise” on this.
The solution to the worst terror attack since 9/11 is NOT to make it even harder for Americans to defend themselves. This is never the solution.
With Republicans eager to sell us out, it is now more important than ever to stand up for your individual right to defend yourself.
Liberty isn’t easy. You don’t get to just sit on the sideline and keep your rights. For every one patriot who stands up to defend his or her rights, there’s at least one gun grabber who wants to turn them into a second-class citizen.
Don’t let them get away with this!
