This year, we have witnessed the erosion of our rights time and time again. However, with the election of Donald Trump, this can all change! In April, the House and Senate betrayed the people of the United States by reauthorizing FISA for another two years. But all hope is not lost. Donald Trump's new administration is committed to restoring the Constitution, which means the unconstitutional FISA should be on the chopping block. We, the people, must demand that Donald Trump and his incoming administration end FISA and restore constitutional integrity to our nation once more!

In December 2023, FBI Director Christopher Wray met with the Senate Judiciary Committee to advocate for Congress to reauthorize warrantless surveillance powers for the intelligence community, allowing them to review information on Americans without securing a court-issued warrant – a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment. Congress permitted an extension of FISA until April 2024 and soon after voted to reauthorize it for an additional two years. However, with a new administration committed to the restoration of our nation, they must work to stop FISA in its tracks! The people of the United States are sick and tired of being spied on and having our Fourth Amendment rights violated! End the Surveillance State. End FISA!

Before the extension of FISA in December 2023, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) and other bipartisan lawmakers voiced strong objections, signing a letter that emphasized the urgent need for FISA reform. Senator Lee rightly argued that Congress should act responsibly to protect the civil rights of American citizens. Unfortunately, FISA was reauthorized for another two years in April, presenting the incoming Trump administration with the opportunity to end FISA in 2026 or, hopefully, sooner.

Congress failed to end FISA in December and failed again in April, forcing Americans to endure two more years of rights violations. The inauguration of the Trump administration provides an opportunity to stand on the right side of history and defend our freedoms! Congress has a duty to protect the liberties and rights of the American people. Congress and the Trump administration must end FISA in its entirety! End the Surveillance State!
