It never ceases to amaze me how far Obama will go to give amnesty to illegal aliens.
Last month, there was a horrible earthquake in South America. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the continent’s Pacific Coast, killing hundreds and injuring thousands.
Under US law, the President is allowed to provide “migratory relief” to people displaced by natural disasters. Surprise, surprise… Obama has bastardized this program as well.
Since taking office, Obama has used this power to provide Temporary Protected Status to people who have been in the United States for years. He isn’t using it to narrowly protect people displaced by disaster; he is using it to get around the court injunction to start handing out amnesty to illegals already in the country!
When the United States catches someone in the country illegally, they are given a notice to appear in court to begin deportation proceedings.
(Lately, Border Patrol agents have been instructed not to issue notices to appear and just to catch-and-release illegal aliens they apprehend at the border.)
When a natural disaster strikes a foreign country, Barack Obama has used that as an excuse to end deportation proceedings for illegal aliens from that country.
His argument is that if an earthquake makes a county like Ecuador unlivable, it would be inhumane to deport Ecuadorian illegal aliens back to their home country.
The problem is that like the rest of Obama’s non-enforcement of immigration law, this allows illegal aliens slated for deportation to disappear back into the shadows.
Again, we are not talking about illegal aliens just getting here. We are talking about people who have been in the country illegally for years, even decades.
Obama has used this loophole to end deportations for people from Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone after the Ebola outbreak last year. He has used it to grant earthquake amnesty to Haitians, hurricane amnesty to Hondurans and Nicaraguans, and “on-going armed conflict” amnesty to halt deportations of Yemeni illegal aliens. Just to show how far Obama has gone, he has given illegal aliens from Yemen amnesty because there is terrorism in their home country. What's next? Drug Cartel Amnesty for Mexican illegal aliens?
Now, he is gearing up to use it to grant “earthquake amnesty” to Ecuadorian illegal aliens.
A Spanish-language announcement is already making its way through Central and South America and illegal aliens are showing up at our border and lying that they’re Ecuadorian without any verifying paperwork.
This is madness. Both a District Court and an Appeals Court have ruled that Obama cannot move forward with his amnesty program and now he is using a loophole to do it anyway!
This has to be stopped!
Our Border Patrol agents are begging Congress to stop this. They are having their hands tied and are being forced to just stand aside and let illegal aliens walk on in. They put their lives on the line to protect our border every day. They are asking for your help to get this amnesty program halted!
Not only are Border agents prohibited from giving illegal aliens notices to appear to begin deportation proceedings, but also now if an illegal alien just claims they are Ecuadorian, they are let right in.
It’s just shameful.
Congress promised to act if and when the court fight failed. With this new “earthquake amnesty,” the Obama administration has found a way around the injunction.
We are out of time!
