Obama has actually done it. He is convening a gun control summit to push his plan to mandate smart guns in police forces and, eventually, nationwide.
What is a “smart gun?”
A smart gun is a firearm that can only be fired by its owners. The technology barely even exists, but there are essentially two ways to accomplish this: (1) fingerprint readers on the grips of the guns and (2) having the owner where a ring, bracelet, or watch with a proximity chip inside of it.
Obama’s goal is to usher in a new era of firearms manufacturing where smart gun technology is mandated on all firearms.
Now, this would be completely unconstitutional.
Except the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals is preparing to issue a ruling that could set us back decades!
Before the 9th Circuit is a case challenging California’s right to mandate certain “safety features” in firearms sold in the state. California is trying to force any new gun entering the market to have “microstamping” (where a miniscule serial number is stamped on each fired casing.
Gun manufacturers have said that this technology is too costly to implement and that it could be easily circumvented by replacing a gun’s firing pin or filing an existing one down.
The point is, the requirement is idiotic and as a result, the no major gun manufactures have released new products in California.
If the 9th Circuit rules the way it is expected to, this will open the door for Obama and the Democrats to force this smart gun technology on almost 20% of the American population.
The reason that this smart gun technology mandate is despised is because it will lead to innocent people dying.
When you’re in a life or death scenario, you already have to deal with the possibility of a gun’s mechanical failure. Obama wants to add software to the equation as well.
Anyone who has dealt with a computer crash knows that when you need technology the most, it will fail you. Fingerprint readers break and have trouble reading sweaty hands. RFID chips can be hacked, giving criminals and government agencies the ability to disable your firearm…
Let’s talk about that last one. The 2nd Amendment is designed to allow the American people to defend the country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. What Obama is pushing is the ability to disarm potentially every American with as little as the push of a button.
This CANNOT be allowed to move forward!
Obama is convening this gun control summit to get police departments to adopt this deadly smart gun technology.
Police hate it, but the liberals in charge of many cities' police departments are willing to implement this horrible program. When police lives are on the line, they shouldn’t have to pray that the software functions.
There are already cases every year where police officers’ and armed citizens’ guns jam and cost them their lives. Adding a miniature computer to the inside of a firearm will only increase the number of unnecessary deaths.
The State of New Jersey has an old law on the books that requires only smart guns to be sold in state when the technology becomes commercially available. The minute a smart gun hits the market, the process starts to force the state’s firearm dealers to sell nothing but smart guns. You won't be able to buy a new gun without this technology and lawmakers have admitted that their plan is to force this technology on all firearms retroactively.
Similar laws are being proposed in states like New York, Massachusetts, and California and you can guarantee that if Obama forces these “smart” guns onto the market, more liberal states will mimic New Jersey.
They are expecting you not to be paying attention. They are counting on you to be disconnected from this.
Throughout history, tyrants have used the public’s apathy to roll back their rights. By the time the people realized what was happening, it was too late.
I’m not going to just stand by and watch this happen and I hope you won’t either!
