Fellow Conservative,
Barack Hussein Obama actually did it. In the face of calls for impeachment, he still unconstitutionally signed the UN Climate Change treaty.
Congress never voted, was never even consulted, and no ratification vote was ever held. Yet President Obama just committed the United States to an international treaty and has promised not only to comply with the emissions requirements, but he has also promised to fund it to the tune of $3 billion!
White House officials are celebrating. Their plan is to pump as much taxpayer money into this bogus treaty and then implement as many of its tenets as possible before Obama leaves office. If they succeed, they will lock the United States into this horrible climate agreement for the next 4 years.
Our window for stopping this is closing. If Congress doesn’t dismantle this treaty right now, then we will be stuck with it for at least the next four years!
The Constitution is clear as day:
The President “shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur…” (emphasis added)
As we reported last year, European leaders admitted that their goal was to craft the treaty in a way that would allow Obama to implement it unilaterally. French then-Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who is also a French Socialist Party leader, led the push to circumvent Congress. “Whether we like it or not,” he said late last year, “if [the treaty] comes to the [U.S.] Congress, they will refuse… We must find a formula which is valuable for everybody and valuable for the U.S. without going to the Congress.”
That is what we are up against. The President is colluding with foreign governments – and Socialists, no less – to circumvent the Constitution and force an international treaty onto the American people. What Obama is doing is unconstitutional!
Not only does the Constitution require Congressional involvement in the Treaty-making process, it lays out exactly what that involvement must be: a super-majority, two-thirds vote.
In 2013, the United States Senate voted 53-46 against the UN Arms Trade Treaty. Obama disregarded the vote and signed the treaty anyway. Not only that, but he sent his subordinates down to Mexico last year to help coordinate the treaty’s implementation. What the President did was unconstitutional. He had no right to participate in that treaty without Congressional approval.
Now, Obama is doing the same with the UN Climate Treaty. He does not have Congressional approval, but he has already paid $500 MILLION to help the UN implement it and he has promised another $2.5 Billion literally as soon as possible.
Obama is banking on Congress not voting on his UN treaty. He is expecting to finance this horrible treaty and implement it by executive order without Congressional approval.
The money is already leaving. The regulations are already being written. Billions of dollars of tax dollars are leaving the country and new burdensome regulations are putting American companies out of business.
If you want to stop this, you need to do it now!
Sincerely,
Joe Otto
