As you remember, at the beginning of the year, Obama announced an executive order forcing government departments and agencies – including the Pentagon and local law enforcement agencies – to begin the process of implementing “smart gun” technology into their firearms. That process just officially begun.
So-called “smart guns” are firearms designed to only be fired by a chosen person. This is attempted in a number of ways. Shooters wear a watch or a ring that sends a radio signal to the gun, which in-turn unlocks the trigger when they pick it up. Other designs use fingerprint and palm print readers to verify a shooter’s identity before the gun can be fired.
The end goal is not just to force this technology on law enforcement, however. The minute that the Obama administration purchases one of these “smart guns,” it will trigger a 14-year-old law in New Jersey forcing all gun stores to sell nothing but “smart guns.”
Similar laws are making their way through New York, California, and Massachusetts and you can guarantee if Obama succeeds on forcing these death traps onto the market, more liberal states will follow.
But they might not need to. Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) introduced the Handgun Trigger Safety Act with the goal of forcing ALL Americans to retrofit their firearms with this dangerous technology.
If someone wants to trust his or her life to a complex fingerprint reading mechanism or a vulnerable microchip, then that is his or her prerogative. However, how dare Obama and the Left try to force citizens to use this technology?
Obama doesn’t seem to care, though. He is convening a summit, inviting heads of major law enforcement agencies, to get them all on board with implementing smart gun technology in their departments.
There is a reason that the military and police are staunchly against this technology. Why? Because when the military and police depend on firearms to save their lives, they refuse to add vulnerable electronics to that equation! The heads of these departments, however, are usually political appointees more than willing to toe the liberal party-line.
When you are rushing to your gun safe or bedside table after someone breaks into your house, you shouldn’t have to worry about your palm being too sweaty to register a fingerprint to unlock your gun.
Likewise, if someone attacks you, it is absolutely ludicrous to rest life or death on whether a battery is fully charged.
Not to mention that this technology would 100% give the government or any well-equipped criminal the power to disarm entire populations with just the push of a button by jamming the guns’ signals.
All around, this is just horrible. But we don’t have time to gripe. Obama is moving forward with this whether you like it or not. Money is being doled out to federal agencies and law enforcement entities for the purpose of purchasing these death traps.
When this happens, millions of Americans will legally have this horrible gun control forced on them.
When the Founders warned American citizens to maintain constant vigilance in defense of their God-given rights, this is what they were talking about: A tyrant using executive power to move the country down a path of disarmament.
It’s time to fight back!
