Dear Conservative,
It’s working. We have been pressuring Congress to hold the line against the Obama-Iran Nuclear Deal and the Democrats are starting to get nervous.
Together, we’ve sent over 100,000 faxes DEMANDING that Congress assert its treaty powers and make sure that it reserves the right to veto any nuclear agreement.
You see, as the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act is written right now, the GOP alone has no power to stop the deal. All it would take is 34 Democrats to side with the President and the deal would go through.
Conservatives in Congress have heard your voice. They are pressuring to prolong the process until their Conservative amendments are added to the bill.
The Democrats are scared. They like the bill just the way it is. They can pretend to care about the Constitution’s treaty powers and still give Obama exactly what he wants.
So, they’re pushing to end debate on the Iran bill and push it through as-is.
This CANNOT be allowed to happen!
There’s only one reason to end debate and that is because the RINOs and the Democrats like the legislation just the way it is.
They get to pretend to care about the Constitution’s Treaty Clause but in reality, they’re too cowardly to actually do anything about it.
If the Democrats succeed in pressuring the RINOs to end debate on the bill, then it is game over.
When Mitch McConnell took over control of the Senate, he made a promise that every amendment would receive a vote. He’s so worried about conservative amendments making it through that he is actually contemplating breaking his most important campaign promise.
It all came to a head when Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced an amendment that would force Iran to recognize the State of Israel. This is just one of the many amendments that the Democrats don’t want to vote on. If they agree to them, they'll be skewered by the rest of their party. And if they vote against them, they're going to have a hard time explaining it to their constituents. So instead of having to swallow this poison pill, they're trying to sabotage the legislation.
And the worst part is, the RINOs in charge of the Senate actually agree with them!
It is up to you to force Congress to hold the line!
No surrender! Don’t let the RINOs and Democrats give up Congress’ treaty powers!
