Nancy Pelosi is calling the House of Representatives back into session TODAY to pass a new coronavirus bill. But all eyes are on how Pelosi plans to pass the bill.
Only around 20 Democrats are expected to show up for work. But each of them will come with a list of 10 other Democrats who will spend today 'working from home.' Under Pelosi's newly passed House rules, those 20 Democrats will each also be able to vote on behalf of 10 other Congressmen, giving them the combined voting power of 220 Congressmen. In order for legislation to pass in this Congress, it needs at least 216 votes.
What Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are doing is unconstitutional. Article 1, Section 5 of the United States Constitution says clearly that in both the House and the Senate, "a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do business." The Supreme Court confirmed this in United States v. Ballin that the Congress' ability to do business is "created by the mere presence of such majority."
The House needs at least 216 Congressmen present to conduct business. One of the roles of the House Sergeant at Arms is to round up missing Representatives in order to ensure that there is a quorum.
But Pelosi's latest rule change ignores the Constitution. She intends to pass a MASSIVE coronavirus relief bill today with just 20 Democrats there to do it!
To reiterate, Speaker Pelosi is convening Congress today and is choosing to ignore Article 1, Section 5 of the United States Constitution and pass legislation without a quorum.
This is unconstitutional. What Pelosi is doing is unconstitutional.
Democrats don't care. To them, the ends justify the means. President Trump offered Nancy Pelosi one of the Abbott 5-minute coronavirus testing machines so she could test Congressmen and their staffers every day. She refused the President's help, instead choosing to push through her unconstitutional resolution to allow Democrats to vote by proxy instead of showing up.
Our goal today is to bury Congressional office, both in DC and in their home districts, with a half million FaxBlasts demanding three things:
1) Every single Congressman and Senator must show up to work. Anyone who refuses to show up and allows another Member of Congress to vote on their behalf will have violated their oath to serve their constituents and must be removed from office.
2) Nothing that Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats pass using these proxy-voting rules can be allowed to become law. Not only are Democrats violating the Constitution, but they are depriving tens of millions of Americans of their right to be represented in Congress. NOTHING that passes through this unconstitutional process can become law.
3) Nancy Pelosi must be removed from power. She has abused her power as Speaker of the House and is presiding over the biggest partisan power grab in this country's history. This constitutional violation alone is cause for her removal as Speaker.
We can put a stop to the Far Left's power grab, but we are running out of time!
