It was January 31, 2016. Sarah Root sat in her Oldsmobile at an intersection, waiting for the light to go Green.
She had been celebrating all day and for good reason. One day earlier, Sarah graduated from college with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She was excited to start a new phase of her life.
That changed in an instant. A pickup truck slammed into Sarah’s car, sending it flying 800 feet through the intersection.
The police reports describe the wreckage as so horrible that the front and rear of Sarah’s car were practically touching.
The pick-up truck was being driven by Eswin G. Mejia, an illegal alien who came to the United States in 2013. He was street racing and when police gave him a breathalyzer, he blew a 0.241, which is three-times the legal limit.
When Sarah’s parents arrived at the hospital after being notified of a crash, they expected to see their daughter with a broken arm or leg. No one told them that they were being brought in to identify the body.
Sarah Root spent three days in the hospital. Her spinal cord was severed and her skull fractured in two places, but her parents kept her on life support to give the medical staff time to collect her organ donations.
Sarah Root spent just as much time on life support as her illegal alien killer spent in jail.
He was arraigned and set-free after posting just $5,000 bail. His bail was less than the cost of Sarah Root’s funeral. Now, her killer has disappeared and is nowhere to be found.
In her memory, Sarah’s Law has been introduced and is being scheduled for a vote. This bill is common sense and it needs your help!
Sarah Root’s story is just one of many, unfortunately. Far too many people are being killed and injured at the hands of illegal aliens.
Sarah’s Law is being presented as a companion bill for Kate’s Law.
Sarah’s Law would force the Obama administration to detain any illegal alien accused of killing or causing seriously bodily harm to anyone. The law would require that illegal aliens who injure or kill Americans be remanded into custody without bail.
It’s common sense, something I have always believed to be severely lacking in this administration. How else can you describe U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Sarah Saldana telling Congress that the reason Sarah’s killer was set free was because she was still technically on life support?
But I don’t think that ignorance or lack of common sense has anything to do with it. Right now, you can go onto the Border Patrol website and there is an Frequently Asked Questions page detailing how illegal aliens can avoid capture by hiding inside schools, churches, hospitals, or even public rallies or demonstrations.
Yes, the Obama administration is actually advertising safe-zones for illegal aliens…
This is absolutely deliberate.
Unfortunately, we live in a country where the Federal government has to be forced to keep illegal alien killers behind bars.
That is what is at stake here…
The Senators from Iowa and Nebraska – Joni Ernst, Chuck Grassley, Deb Fischer, and Ben Sasse – have officially introduced Sarah’s Law into the United States Senate. They are demanding a vote and since Sen. Grassley is the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, this bill will get pushed through committee.
This isn’t one of those bills that gets introduced for headlines and then left to die. This is moving forward and it needs your help!
But they can’t do it alone. They are already facing stiff opposition from the Democrats who want to make sure that illegal aliens can kill Americans with impunity.
They need your help to get this law passed!
