A few months ago, Joe Biden ordered the ATF to begin targeting pistols and handguns with "arm braces" or "stabilizing braces," devices that were invented to help disabled veterans learn to shoot one-handed again. The devices attach to the end of a handgun and allow a shooter to more easily fire it one-handed by either strapping the brace to their arm or resting it against their forearm.
Today, millions of Americans own handguns with arm braces because it helps them shoot their pistols more accurately and safely. Each of those arm braces were delivered with a letter from Barack Obama's ATF promising that these devices are legal to own.
Now, Biden is rescinding that promise. Everyone who owns one of these pistols now needs to either (1) pay 200 bucks to register them with the government, (2) permanently modify their firearms to remove the brace, (3) destroy the firearm, or (4) surrender them with the government.
Millions of Americans are now facing felony charges if they don't agree to destroy/modify/register/surrender their legally purchased and legally owned firearms.
Now, 48 GOP Senators are fighting to put a stop to this madness before it goes into effect!
Only two Republicans have not yet signed onto the push to stop Biden's new pistol ban: Susan Collins (Maine) and Rob Portman (Ohio). The rest are uniting to stop this regulation before it goes into full effect.
This is what we fought for. With your help, we sent hundreds of thousands of FaxBlasts over the past couple weeks to Congress demanding that they stop this gun ban. Your activism worked! Those two GOPers notwithstanding, the rest of the Republican Party is now united and fighting to stop this. They have sent a letter to the ATF demanding they withdraw this new regulation.
"The proposed rule is worse than merely abdicating your responsibility to protect Americans from criminals; you're threatening to turn law-abiding Americans into criminals by imposing the largest executive branch-initiated gun registration and confiscation program in American history."
Biden, however, has ordered the ATF not to abandon his gun ban. Just this week, Joe Biden gave a gun control speech and touted that in a few days, millions of Americans will be forced to surrender, destroy, modify, or register their guns. He is doubling down on his handgun ban.
The only reason that the ATF has the authority to pass new regulations is because Congress gave it that power. Congress passes the laws and then allows the ATF to fill in the gaps with regulations.
A strongly worded letter isn't going to do it... The ATF is going to ram this gun ban through unless Congress stops them.
The GOP has heard you. They are fighting. Now, we need to make sure they see this through to the end. A "strongly worded letter" isn't good enough.
The GOP has the power to block this, but it is up to YOU to force them to do it!
Failure cannot be an option here. If Biden is allowed to turn millions of gun owners into felons for owning a device that the ATF expressly told them was legal for them to purchase and buy, then Biden's gun ban powers will be limitless.
No President should have the power to just unilaterally declare that an entire class of firearms is now illegal. If Biden is allowed to get away with this, it will not stop here. He will keep going and going.
That is why we must stop him, right here and right now!
But the only way that can happen is if you rise up and FORCE Congress to block this ATF rule from going into effect!
Shall not be infringed!
