Trump just put Central American governments on notice: If they don't stop these illegal alien caravans, he will cut off their American aid immediately!
A caravan of "migrants" is making its way through Central America. Their goal? Enter the United States illegally and game the system to get asylum.
Yesterday, the caravan totaled 1,300 people. Today, it has grown to over 3,000 people.
Of course, most of them have a child in-tow. They aren't stupid. They know that President Trump isn't allowed to separate children from their parents or detain them. Any illegal alien who shows up with a child -- even if that child isn't theirs -- automatically gets released.
They know this. Now, they're marching on the border.
Only Congress can close this loophole and only YOU can force them to act!
Earlier this year, GOPers in Congress worked around the clock to make it easier for illegal migrants to enter and stay in the United States.
President Trump begged them to close these loopholes to stop incentivizing illegal immigration. Both Ryan and McConnell refused. The Obama-era catch and release programs remain in place.
But at the same time, so-called-conservatives were also working to expand these loopholes. Rep Kevin Yoder (R-KS) tried to sneak through an amendment that would have codified an Obama-era policy to grant asylum claims to domestic violence and gang violence victims.
We were able to block this policy from being codified, but Federal judges ruled that the Trump administration must continue Obama's crazy catch and release policies anyway.
Now, thousands more migrants are barreling towards the southern border. They know the loopholes and they are going to take advantage of it.
"We're going to drop in on Donald Trump," one woman in the caravan told reporters. "He has to take us in."
She is traveling with a newborn, a five year old, and a seven year old. Her reason for coming to the US? She can't find a job in Honduras and is afraid of gang violence in her home country.
President Trump imposed his zero tolerance policy at the border this year and liberal Obama and Clinton judges ordered him to stop detaining these illegal aliens.
The President turned to Congress and begged them to close these loopholes to stop the illegal alien surge, but the GOP leadership refused. Paul Ryan will only secure the border if the bill includes massive amnesty as well and Mitch McConnell refuses to lower the threshold to 51 in the Senate to push a border security bill through.
President Trump is furious and just issued a major demand to Congress to do whatever it takes to secure the border!
But he can't do it alone. He needs your help!
We are in this position because Congress refused to act. They voted to keep the status quo, which is a ban on border wall spending and a continuation of the catch and release policy. Amazingly, they are actually preparing to expand these loopholes in the next spending package coming down the pike.
It has to stop.
President Trump is applying maximum pressure to the Honduran government to stop the caravan from moving further north.
"The United States has strongly informed the President of Honduras that if the large caravan of people heading to the U.S. is not stopped immediately and brought back to Honduras, no more money or aid will be given to Honduras, effective immediately!" , Trump just tweeted.
GOPers in Congress are already telling Trump to 'cool it.' The tweet was only posted this morning and the GOP is already threatening to block Trump from cutting off the aid funding to countries like Honduras.
This isn't a humanitarian march... it's an invasion. Asylum seekers don't scale border fences and wave the flag of the country they "fled." That is more akin to what you'd see from a conquering army...
It's time to shut this down!
Caravans of illegal aliens are marching on the border as we speak. Don't let the Democrats and GOP leave the border wide open!
