Earlier this year, when Congress was drafting a spending bill to fund the government through September, President Trump sent a list of requirements to the House and Senate. One of those requirements was money to begin construction on the border wall.
Even though Trump was only asking for a billion, RINOs and even some Conservative Republicans killed the border wall amendment. Some were even insinuating shutting down the government if Trump insisted on a border wall...
After a week of fierce negotiation, in private and public, Ryan and Trump came to an agreement. The border wall would instead be funded in Congress' next budget.
Well, Trump just delivered his budget proposal to Congress on Wednesday and not even 24-hours later, these same so-called Conservatives were declaring his border wall proposal dead on arrival. News also leaked out that the immigration bill being drafted in the Senate provides money for less than ten miles of new border fencing.
There is a surrender happening right now. With the mainstream media in conspiracy theory mode, no one is covering it. But Republicans are once again refusing to build the wall.
All told, this will be the third opportunity that Congress had to fund the wall during the Trump presidency and simply refused to do so.
Republican Senators John McCain (AZ) and John Cornyn (TX) both declared that the President's budget was "dead on arrival." Cornyn also happens to be the Senator drafting the immigration bill that doesn't even fund Trump's border wall.
The GOP rejected the Trump's border wall budget last month, they rejected this next funding attempt, and now they are drafting an immigration bill that completely ignores the wall that the American people voted for...
But it's not just the wall. They oppose all elements of President Trump's immigration policy. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) just introduced the State Sponsored Visa Pilot Program Act of 2017. This legislation would bring an additional half-million foreign workers into the United States every year to compete with Americans for jobs. Not only that, but the bill would allow states to actually sponsor illegal aliens and give them amnesty. This backdoor amnesty provision empower liberal states to "legalize" illegal aliens.
We are talking potentially hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens being legalized every year. Republicans are pushing for this amnesty to please their coporate donors. It is no surprise that the US Chamber of Commerce has emerged as the chief backer of this.
It's absolutely mind boggling that no one in the media is covering this. There is a concerted effort by Republicans to kill Donald Trump's immigration proposals and they must be stopped!
Listen, the President is doing everything he can. Immigration arrests are up 38% over this time last year and the illegal immigrants with criminal convictions are being removed from the United States in record numbers. Trump has siphoned enough money to pay for the bidding process to choose a wall design, but that money runs out in just a matter of weeks.
Congress, on the other hand, is doing everything it can to prevent our immigration laws from being enforced. Wondered why Congress hasn't taken action on President Trump's immigration agenda? Now you know.
The GOP thought they had made it. They thought that they could defund the wall and push through all of these amnesty initiatives before you had enough time to take action and stop them.
But now you know and there is still time. Now you know what is happening behind the scenes and with that knowledge comes a responsibility to do something about it!
