Want to know the reason that Congress hasn't voted on any large pro-gun pieces of legislation? Republicans in Congress don't want to.
Just to be completely clear. When Congress voted this week on whether to pay for sex changes in the military, 24 Republicans crossed party lines to try to make it happen with the Democrats. Based on what we heard from Paul Ryan yesterday, the number of Republicans who oppose concealed carry reciprocity is apparently larger...
"I support reciprocity," Ryan said in his Friday news conference, "but I don't know if all of our members support reciprocity. There are issues some members have on federalism grounds."
What this means is that a large part of the Republican party apparently believes states should be allowed to violate the 2nd Amendment...
Rep. Richard Hudson's (R-NC) Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act now has 204 co-sponsors. It would essentially force states to treat concealed carry permits the way they treat out of state driver's licenses. If you're licensed in one state, you're licensed in ALL states. Paul Ryan has come out and declared that he wants to put it onto President Trump's desk.
But he just admitted that at least two dozen Republicans don't want that to happen. They're apparently happy with states like New York and California openly violating the rights of their citizens.
The Supreme Court had a chance to put a stop to these gun control laws last month. After debating the issue for months, the Supreme Court finally decided to keep California's gun control scheme in place.
In most cases, the issue would be settled after the Supreme Court refuses to hear a challenge. But right now, we have a chance to overturn the liberal majority on the Supreme Court. If this legislation passes, it would make concealed carry legal nationwide for all law abiding Americans, not just the privileged few. The Liberal activist judges would be taken out of the equation entirely.
Even Americans who live in anti-gun states like California would be able to get non-resident permits from Utah or Florida and then be allowed to carry concealed in all 50 states.
We've never had an opportunity like this before!
This is what we're fighting for. A chance to tear down the gun control iron curtain and restore the 2nd Amendment to the quarter of all Americans who live in an anti-gun state.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Paul Ryan is ready. 204 other Congressmen are ready.
No more excuses...
It's time to force a vote!
