The President isn't pulling any punches. He went nuclear this morning on Andrew McCabe, James Comey, and even Robert Mueller.
You can disagree with how Trump says things, but my goodness... he was spot-on today. Trump just accused James Comey of lying under oath during a hearing that was held back on May 3rd. Comey was asked by Senator Chuck Grassley whether he had eve authorized someone in the FBI to leak information to the press.
Grassley: "Have you ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation?"
Comey: "No."
We now know this is a lie. Trump is absolutely right. When Andrew McCabe was fired, he decided to take one last shot at the President. He issued a press release accusing the Trump administration of firing him to try to shut down the Mueller investigation. But then, McCabe said something that he is now wishing he didn't.
McCabe declared that his leaking to the press was "not a secret" and that Director Comey "[was] aware of the interaction with the reporter." Even more, McCabe said that Comey himself regularly held leaking sessions with reporters.
Here, McCabe is telling the world that the offense he was fired for -- leaking to the press and then lying about it -- was not only known by Comey, but sanctioned by him.
Comey lied to investigators under oath, basically the same crime that Mueller is now indicting Trump's allies for. Except in this case, James Comey lied to Congress.
That gives Congress the ability to charge Comey directly!
It's called perjury. Eric Holder was the last DOJ official to be charged by Congress for ignoring a lawful subpoena. Except in that case, the criminal referral went nowhere. Why would Eric Holder investigate and prosecute himself?
Things are different now. Comey isn't being protected any longer. Jeff Sessions has suddenly discovered his backbone and is starting to clean house and drain the swamp. He fired Andrew McCabe less than two days before he was set to retire and receive a massive pension.
James Comey must be held accountable for lying under oath.
Robert Mueller's investigation is ruining people's lives for a whole lot less. Paul Manafort is being prosecuted for incorrectly applying for a home mortgage. Mueller is prosecuting anything and everything he can find.
And yet here we are with a blatant crime -- lying under oath -- that Congress itself can charge and the GOP leadership is holding them back.
Enough is enough!
It is an open and shut case. James Comey swore under oath that he never leaked anything himself or authorized someone else to leak to the press about the Clinton or Trump investigations.
Andrew McCabe admitted that Comey authorized him to leak details to the press about the Clinton Foundation investigation.
Comey lied... to Congress... under oath... That is perjury.
Under the law, Congress has the authority to refer perjury charges directly to the U.S. Attorney's office. The law says that the DOJ must impanel a grand jury. There is no wiggle room for the Justice Department.
If Congress charges Comey, then he WILL face a Grand Jury.
But the only way that happens is if you rise up and demand it!
Already, we are seeing Conservative members of Congress starting to demand a criminal referral. But they need your help!
