If we are going to have any hope of taking this country back, both Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell need to be replaced.
Ryan and McConnell got the GOP to vote to repeal Obamacare in late-2015. The House and Senate passed a full repeal bill and sent it to Obama's desk. But now that there is a President in the Oval Office willing to sign a repeal bill into law, they can't get it done.
Their failure to repeal Obamacare is just one of many reasons to remove them both. They have failed to take action on any of the promises that Donald Trump made and that the American people voted for. They have mothballed pro-gun legislation, turned their backs on going after Planned Parenthood, and after promising to build the wall, have only approved 28-miles of new border wall.
You have to go back 164 years to before the Civil War to find a Congress that has accomplished less...
And the American people are taking notice. They no longer have confidence in either Ryan or McConnell. A poll released yesterday shows that 48% of all Americans disapprove of the job Paul Ryan is doing. Another recent poll had McConnell at 49% disapproval.
They have to go!
The truth is that Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are failing because they don't want to succeed. They spent all of 2015 and 2016 attacking Donald Trump and criticizing his policy proposals.
When the election came around, they wanted Trump to lose. They were perfectly happy with the prospect of a Hillary Clinton Presidency because the last thing they actually wanted to do was act on their promises. Ryan was recorded on a telephone call telling Members of Congress that he would "never support Donald Trump" or his policies.
So, it's no surprise. He's doing exactly what he promised: sabotaging the President.
It's time for them to be removed from leadership. They can and should stay on as Members of Congress, but they simply cannot be trusted to call the shots any longer.
It has been six months since inauguration day. The GOP has wasted half a year because of its spineless leadership.
If the rest of the Trump Presidency goes the way the last six months have, we will have squandered the greatest opportunity of a lifetime to take this country back.
