Yesterday, Robert Mueller charged former-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort with a number of financial crimes dating back before he even worked on the 2016 campaign. Mueller was put in charge of investigating Russian meddling in last year's election and instead, he is charging Trump aides with crimes dating back almost a decade.
We began a full push to pressure Congress into passing an amendment introduced by Rep. Ron DeSantis which would pull the funding from Mueller's witch hunt entirely.
However, every action has an opposite reaction. Realizing that their assault on President Trump might come to a premature end, Democrats and RINOs alike are renewing their push to force a vote on a bill to protect Mueller from being fired. They are even drafting discharge petitions to force a vote on their surrender bills.
They couldn't win through the ballot box. Now, they are going to try to win through the jury box...
What do I mean by that? Well, Robert Mueller impaneled his grand jury in Washington DC. Therefore, he is pulling from Washington DC's residents to create the jury. 93 percent of voters in District of Columbia voted for Hillary Clinton. If Mueller had impaneled a grand jury in, say, northeast Wyoming, where President Trump won 80-90 percent of the vote, he'd have very different results...
But this just reiterates what we already know: the DC elites think they know better than the rest of the country and they aren't afraid to conspire to overrule the election.
There are two bills currently working their way through Congress that would protect Mueller from ever being fired and allow him to continue his witch hunt indefinitely.
The first is the Special Counsel Independence Protection Act (S.1735) and is being sponsored by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Corey Booker (D-NJ). This would require that an unelected judge sign off on any attempt to fire Mueller. Then, the Special Counsel Integrity Act (S.1741), sponsored by Sens Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Chris Coons (D-DE), would expand on this by letting Mueller challenge his firing in court. Notice how these already have Republican co-sponsors?
Even after yesterday's ridiculous indictments, Paul Ryan is still demanding that we let Mueller do his job. When asked whether Mueller had gone too far, Ryan said yesterday that this is what he was "tasked to do." What a coward...
The truth of the matter is that Mueller has gone far beyond his mandate. Instead of focusing on "Russian collusion," he is prosecuting unconnected financial and lobbying crimes. This isn't about getting to the truth. If it was, the Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta, would have been arrested yesterday as well. Podesta worked with Manafort and committed the same crime - failure to register as a foreign lobbyist - that Manafort did in 2011. Literally the same crime. Instead, Manafort became just the eighth person since 1966 to be charged with this crime and Podesta is still a free man.
Mueller isn't focused on the truth. He is focused on getting Trump's aides, and even the President himself, on any crimes he can find, even if they have nothing to do with Russia or the election. Mueller has gone rogue and now that there is momentum building in Congress to stop him, the Establishment is rushing to protect this witch hunt!
This is what it looks like when the establishment realizes it is losing control. Mueller jumped the rails. He was tasked with investigating Russian collusion in the 2016 campaign and instead, he just charged Paul Manafort for not paying taxes on income collected as far back as 2006.
Now, there is a real movement in Congress to pull the rug out from under Mueller's witch hunt and the Establishments in both parties are rushing to keep this sham investigation going. Ryan believes that Mueller is doing a good job. Mitch McConnell wants to let him continue this farce. And the entire Democratic Party and even some Republicans are rallying around these bills to protect Robert Mueller from being fired.
If either of these two bills pass, then Mueller will become the most powerful person in government without ever receiving a single vote. He will have the power to overrule the American electorate and derail everything we have spent years fighting for.
He must be stopped!
