Every year, we deliver a Christmas message to you. Usually we focus on the true meaning of Christmas and lessons to be learned from the birth of Christ. 

This used to be a holiday where we could set aside politics and just spend time with family and friends. But this year, we've seen a truly ugly politicization of Christmas on the Left.

Leftists have been out in force in recent weeks trying to compare the Christmas story to the illegal aliens that are storming the US-Mexico border. Some radicals have even resorted to setting up "nativity" scenes on their front lawns showing baby Jesus in an ICE jail cell (shown above). 

The Bible teaches us that Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem to be counted in Caesar Augustus' census. They traveled across the Roman Empire to return to Bethlehem because Joseph "belonged to the House and Line of David." When they arrived, there was no room in the inn. As Mary went into labor, the two were forced to find shelter with the animals.

Leftists claim that this is a modern refugee story and that the residents of Bethlehem refused to let the two into the inn. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Joseph and Mary didn't travel to Judea as refugees. They traveled as citizens of the Roman Empire to the place of Joseph's ancestral heritage so they could take part in a government-mandated census. And the reason there was no vacancy in the inn was because so many people were returning home to be counted.

The true irony is that while Leftists try to politicize the Christmas story, they are also actively trying to undermine the next census by removing questions about illegal immigration so we can't tell how many illegal aliens there truly are...

Over the first two years of the Trump Presidency, we have seen Liberals try to weaponize the Christian faith against some of the President's most die-hard supporters. They know that the only way they can win in 2020 is to erode away President Trump's Evangelical and faithful supporters. Christians are being asked to justify Trump's actions or tweets. Do not fall for this.

Take Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) as an example. This month, Gutierrez said something truly disgusting during a Congressional hearing.

"It is repugnant to me and astonishing to me that during Christmas, a time in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a Jesus Christ who had to flee for his life with Mary and Joseph... Thank God there wasn't a wall that stopped him from seeking refuge in Egypt. Thank God that wall wasn't there, and thank God there wasn't an administration like [Trump] or he too would have perished."

Democrats hate the President so much, they are trying to say that Trump would have killed Jesus Christ if he was in power two millennia ago. They are trying to convince you that securing the border with a fence or wall is the equivalent of killing the Son of God. I don't think it is possible for Democrats to stoop any lower...

But the Left will continue to stoop lower and lower. Things will only get worse in 2019 and 2020. They are waging an all-out war to try to chip away at the President's support. Keep a watchful eye for the partisans trying to weaponize the Christian faith for their own political gain. Push back against this propaganda and do not allow these people to devalue the Truth with their lies and talking points.

So on this Christmas, make sure you spend time with family and friends celebrating the real meaning of Christmas, not the DNC's talking point version. If you have a family member or friend you are no longer on speaking terms with, be the bigger person and pick up the phone. Sit a child down and teach them the story of Christmas, removed from any of the partisan propaganda.

Remember: today is a day to celebrate the birth of Christ, the Son of God who came to redeem all mankind... even misguided Democrats.
