For weeks, I have warned that the Establishment Republicans were plotting to work with Democrats to undermine President Donald Trump and recommit the United States to the UN's radical climate agenda.
As you remember, Barack Obama unconstitutionally signed this treaty without Congressional ratification and committed billions to help the UN implement it. President Trump announced earlier this summer that he was withdrawing the United States from the treaty and cutting off all funding.
On Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee voted on next year's State Department budget. Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley (OR), who despises Pres. Trump's decision to withdraw from the UN Climate Treaty, introduced an amendment to undo it. Instead of cutting off funding, this amendment would reinstate it.
The Republicans have a majority in the Senate. That means, they also hold a majority in each committee. So, any Democrat amendment should easily fail.
Except on Thursday, Sen. Merkley's amendment passed. Two Turncoat Republicans voted to stop President Trump from fully withdrawing from the UN Climate Treaty. They are Senators Susan Collins (ME) and Lamar Alexander (TN). Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) decided not to vote on the amendment.
The details of random appropriations bills don't ever become front page news. They are expecting this to just slip under the radar. But this is nothing short than a GOP coup and an attempt to return to Obama's radical leftist agenda!
Obama signed this treaty without Congressional approval. Under the Constitution, a two-thirds majority in the Senate must approve any international treaty in order for the US to be bound to it.
Yet these two Republicans alone are trying to make this radical global warming agenda the law of the land.
If the names sound familiar, they should. Susan Collins was also one of the Senators responsible for blocking the Obamacare repeal bill.
These spineless traitors in Congress will keep trying to sabotage the President's agenda as long as they think they can get away with it. They're not doing it out in the open. They're doing it in backroom meetings and obscure committee votes. But they are sabotaging the America First agenda all the same.
All of these sabotage attempts must be stopped, and that starts with the Establishment's attempts to recommit us to this awful treaty!
Two Senators were able to move this amendment forward. But that's not the end of this. 535 Congressmen and Senators must vote on this before it can be passed.
Each and every one of them must know that a vote to recommit the United States to this horrific and unconstitutional treaty will result in them being removed from office!
The United Nations promised that they would stop President Trump from withdrawing from their climate agenda.
What we didn't know is that their sabotage would come from within.
Don't let these globalists succeed in dragging us back into the Obama age!
