Breaking News: Establishment Republicans are working with Democrats to push through a gun confiscation bill this week!
Graham held a hearing on a nationwide gun confiscation plan a few weeks ago when the news originally broke that the Mueller report had ended. Not surprisingly, no media outlet covered the fact that Republicans were literally pushing through a gun confiscation bill. That was by design. The GOP used the political cover of the Mueller investigation to hide what they were doing.
We mobilized Conservatives to fight back against this nationwide disarmament bill. The pressure appeared to work. Graham announced this week that after feeling the heat, he will not move forward with Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Susan Collins' (R-ME) Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act (S. 7). He also will not hold a vote on Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) Extreme Risk Protection Order Act (S. 506).
Instead, Graham wants a bipartisan gun confiscation bill. So, he is working with Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) to come up with a "compromise" disarmament package. And, you guessed it, it is already worse than the GOP's plan...
Instead of a nationwide, top-down program, Graham wants to provide funding so all 50 states can have their own confiscation programs.
Blumenthal and the Democrats, however, are demanding that this be mandatory. If states refuse to confiscate their citizens' guns, then the Left wants to withhold federal funding (similar to how Federal speed limit laws are enforced).
Just so we're clear: this is a clear attempt to Federalize state and local police into a "national" gun confiscation force. And under this new plan, police would be able to disarm civilians without even needing to allege that the suspect broke the law.
That is what is so crazy about this. We've covered it before, but there are currently 7 reasons that someone can be disarmed under Federal law. They must be (1) convicted of a felony or violent misdemeanor, (2) adjudicated mentally defective, (3) dishonorably discharged from the military, (4) an illegal alien, (5) a fugitive from justice, (6) a domestic abuser, or (7) a former-US citizen, meaning they gave up their citizenship. The government needs to prove you did something wrong to suspend your rights.
This "Red Flag" bill gets rid of all of that. Instead of having to prove someone did something wrong, police would be able to use "hearsay" and their own personal opinions to judge whether someone is too dangerous to own a gun. We are seeing this happen in other countries. A gun owner in New Zealand just received a confiscation order because the local police officer didn't like that he was a Trump supporter. This is the kind of program that the establishment is trying to set up here.
Once guns are confiscated, it would up to the gun owner to prove that he or she deserves them back. They are presumed guilty unless they can convince a judge they're innocent. If the Judge doesn't buy their story, then the confiscation order can be extended up to a year. This is insane, but it is exactly what the GOP is trying to push through while you're not paying attention!
We know their strategy. They are going to try to use the full release of the Mueller report (scheduled for the next week) as cover to hide their betrayal from Conservative voters. They want to catch you asleep.
You need to wake up and fight back before it's too late!
When I was growing up, my uncle was going through a divorce. He was an avid hunter and gun collector. His only mistake was choosing the wrong woman to marry.
During their divorce, his spiteful wife lied to police and claimed that he was threatening her. A judge issued a restraining order and took all of his guns away. At the end of the divorce, the judge awarded the gun collection to his wife and she promptly sold them out of spite. His entire collection was confiscated and sold off without him even being charged with a crime.
Make no mistake, if this "compromise" gun confiscation bill passes, you will see the law abused just like that. A man has already been shot and killed in Maryland during a Red Flag gun confiscation raid. An angry family member reportedly turned him into police after losing an argument days prior. That was her way of 'getting back' at him. The first blood in the Left's gun confiscation plan has already been spilled, and now the Establishment Republicans want to take it nationwide!
This isn't how our country is supposed to work. This isn't "innocent until proven guilty." It's the exact opposite!
So, why is it Republicans who are pushing this gun confiscation bill forward? And why are they "compromising" with gun control Democrats to make the bill even worse?
They are counting on catching you asleep. They know that they can only push this through if you aren't paying attention.
