Finally... what we've been waiting for. 13 Republican Congressman are launching a push to force the appointment of a special prosecutor to look into crimes committed by the Obama administration, the Clinton campaign, and other crooked actors like James Comey.
Last week, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that he was giving the issue of FISA abuse -- basically, the fact that the Obama admin and Clintons illegally spied on the Trump campaign -- to the Inspector General.
The Inspector General is an Obama appointee. He has no prosecutorial authority. So even if he finds illegality, he couldn't even prosecute these Deep State criminals. Just like the Hillary Clinton investigation, they would get off with a slap on the wrist.
President Trump blew a gasket. Now, Conservatives in Congress are rallying to force a REAL investigation, one with teeth and the ability to throw these Deep State criminals in jail!
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) is leading the charge on this. He is demanding the appointment of a 2nd Special Prosecutor to investigate and charge the Clintons and members of the Obama administration for these blatant crimes.
The Democrats released their "memo" but all it did was confirm what the Republicans have been saying: the Obama administration deliberately withheld key details from the FISA court. They never told the judge that the evidence they were using for their surveillance was given to them by the Clinton campaign. It was bogus evidence.
That is a crime, and Rep. Jordan is demanding the appointment of a 2nd Special Prosecutor to, well... prosecute them.
"You are supposed to give the court the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I don't think they gave them the whole truth," Jordan said in a statement. "So, this needs investigating. The only remedy is a second special counsel."
The good news is that he isn't alone. At least a dozen other Conservative Republicans have signed onto this push. They are Representatives Lee Zeldin, Claudia Tenney, Francis Rooney, Matt Gaetz, Jody Hice, Scott Perry, Andy Harris, Dave Brat, Ted Budd, Mark Meadows, Paul Gosar, and Louie Gohmert. That is pretty much the who's-who of Conservative Republicans, except for perhaps Francis Rooney who recently flipped on gun control... But I digress.
These 13 Conservatives are not going to settle for Jeff Sessions' inaction. They are demanding more and they need YOUR help to force the rest of Congress to come onboard!
Already, just a day after their letter was released, more Conservatives have come on board. House Intel Chairman Devin Nunes just joined the fight and is demanding that Jeff Sessions take the Obama administration's crimes seriously.
The tide is turning. It is becoming harder and harder to deny the crimes that were committed during the Obama administration.
These Representatives are launching a campaign to hold these Deep State criminals accountable. They've already flipped on member of the GOP leadership to their side.
