Yesterday, the United States Senate voted on a clean repeal bill. This legislation was written by Senator Rand Paul and is an exact copy of the Obamacare repeal bill that Congress passed in 2015.
This time, however, seven Republicans decided not to vote about it. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Susan Collins (ME), Dean Heller (NV), John McCain (AZ), Rob Portman (OH), Lamar Alexander (TN), and Lisa Murkowski (AK) decided to flip-flop and vote to keep Obamacare on the books.
They stabbed you in the back. They lied to you.
When asked if the House would fulfill their promise and pass full repeal, GOP leaders admitted that they didn't have the votes for that.
They lied to you.
Seven years of promising to repeal Obamacare. They were willing to vote for repeal when they knew Obama would veto it and they used that promise to get themselves re-elected. But now, they've apparently changed their minds...
They lied to you.
And now they're going to go on vacation and laugh about it.
This comes from the top of the Congressional GOP leadership. McConnell and Ryan have failed you. Honestly, think back to when Paul Ryan was a Vice Presidential candidate. Back in 2012, he promised repeal on "day one." Four years later, we're on day 188 of the Trump Presidency and they can't even get the GOP to do what they promised...
In two weeks, Congress is scheduled to go on vacation. The RINOs believe they earned it.
What have they accomplished? Nothing. We are half a year into the Trump presidency and even though the GOP has accomplished nothing, they think they deserve a vacation. Perhaps Paul Ryan wants to go back to Disney Land...
We bombarded Congress last month with close to a million faxes demanding that they cancel their vacation. McConnell and Ryan caved to the pressure and announced that Congress would go on vacation two weeks later than planned.
That's not good enough!
It is up to you to remind them that they haven't earned one minute of vacation. It is up to you to make sure that they stay in Washington DC indefinitely until they find the backbone to actually do what they promised!
Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are dreaming of white sandy beaches while the American people continue to suffer under the laws passed by the Obama administration. They're more interested in working on their tans than they are about working for the American people.
We can stop them. You can stop them.
The pressure last month got to be too much to bear and they had no choice but to postpone their vacation.
Now it is time to demand that they cancel it entirely!
