Starting Monday, Congress will be in a mad dash to pass as many bills as possible. The career politicians still believe that they deserve a month-long "vacation" in August. They know they need to pass a lot of bills this coming week.

At the top of the list will be the next coronavirus aid package. That is going to get the majority of the coverage. Then, we are going to see Democrats and Republicans trying to slip through a "compromise" bill tear down Confederate statues and monuments. As we've covered, this "compromise" includes a plan to literally desecrate Confederate graves.

Whenever Congress focuses on one or two big bills like this, we always look to see what Democrats and Republicans are going to try to slip through without us noticing. It happens everytime.

This coming week is no different. As we reported, Democrats and Republicans are working together rework the federal calendar by removing Columbus Day and, in exchange, adding "Juneteenth" as a federal holiday.

This was a Republican plan. We knew that Democrats were pushing to make Juneteenth a holiday -- even though practically no one had ever heard of it before this year. But it was the GOP who recommended also erasing Columbus Day from the calendar. These idiots believe that is a "compromise."

Stop this bill before it's too late! Please, you must send your instant FaxBlast to Congress right now and force them to KILL the Johnson-Lankford amendment to abolish Columbus Day to make room in the calendar for Juneteenth!

Leftists have been trying to abolish Columbus Day for decades. Many liberal states and cities have already done so and replaced the holiday with "Indigenous People's Day."

They hate Christopher Columbus because he was a (1) white man who (2) conquered the indigenous people in the Americas. To them, Christopher Columbus represents everything wrong with the United States today. When they attack Columbus, they are attacking the very idea of Europeans ever settling the North American continent...

Shockingly, two GOPers were the ones to actually propose abolishing Columbus Day. Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and James Lankford (R-OK) introduced an amendment that would make room for a Juneteenth federal holiday by abolishing Columbus Day. The GOP's idea of a compromise is to give the Left something they've demanded for decades. That is how dumb they are...

And as I said, this "compromise" would make room for Juneteenth to be added to the calendar.

What is Juneteenth? It commemorates the fact that on June 19, 1865, the City of Galveston, Texas finally learned that Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation and freed the slaves. The only caveat? Lincoln signed the order 1,0001 days prior. Galveston learned about it last because Texas was far removed from the rest of the country.

This had always been a local holiday. It only became a Texas state holiday in 1980. And yet Johnson and Lankford claim that Juneteenth is our 'second Independence Day.'

Just think for a second about how stupid it is to claim that a holiday practically no one had ever heard of, and didn't formally exist until 1980, is suddenly our 'Second Independence Day.' It is idiotic.

I don't hold anything against anyone who wants to celebrate Juneteenth. If you want to celebrate the fact that a city learned about the Emancipation Proclamation 1,001 days after it was signed, go for it. But this is not a federal holiday. You know it, and I know it...

And yet, that is what Congress plans to vote on this week. Not only to make Juneteenth a federal holiday, but also to abolish Columbus Day.

And they think they can get away with this because they think you're not paying attention...

Stop this bill before it's too late! Please, you must send your instant FaxBlast to Congress right now and force them to KILL the Johnson-Lankford amendment to abolish Columbus Day to make room in the calendar for Juneteenth!

Here is the good news. The pressure is working. Senators Johnson and Lankford have both apologized, claiming that they never meant to cave to the Left's demands and were only concerned about "balancing the budget" if a new federal holiday was to be created.

Not sure I believe them, but the point is that the backlash forced them to apologize.

But, there's bad news. Since the amendment was already introduced, Democrats are still moving forward with it. Their bill has now been rewritten to incorporate the Johnson-Lankford surrender amendment. And there are still Republicans supporting the plan...

There is still time to stop this, but we need your help. We have proven that our pressure campaigns can force Republicans to back down. But unfortunately, there is no shortage of cowards in the GOP.

The only thing that can stop this surrender is you raising your voice right now!

Stop this bill before it's too late! Please, you must send your instant FaxBlast to Congress right now and force them to KILL the Johnson-Lankford amendment to abolish Columbus Day to make room in the calendar for Juneteenth!
