The GOP establishment is scrambling to stop the border wall from being funded before Friday"s deadline!
Congress has until the end of the week to send President Donald Trump a spending bill that he is willing to sign. Otherwise, about a quarter of the Federal government will shutdown.
President Trump made his demands crystal clear: If Congress does not send him 5 billion for border wall construction, he will veto the package and let the government shutdown.
When President Obama issued veto threats, Republicans and Democrats alike rushed to pass a bill that he was comfortable with signing. But now, a week after Trump"s on-air argument with Chuck and Nancy, the GOP has made zero progress with funding Trump"s border wall plan.
Instead, the Republican party is moving full steam ahead with a massive amnesty bill!
The GOP is demanding that Trump stand down and accept a "compromise." Whenever you hear Republicans talk about "compromising," you know it"s bad.
The new plan is being pushed by Senator Susan Collins (R-ME). Whenever there"s a Conservative agenda item in need of sabotage, Sen. Collins always shows up...
"This is the one and only bill that deals with immigration issues with broad, bipartisan support," Collins says.
Her bill would allocate 2.5 billion every year for ten years to "border security." While that sounds nice, only a tiny fraction would go to build border barriers. Even then, it would only fund border fence repairs and expansion; not Trump"s wall prototypes. Most would go to Border Patrol hiring and technology advancements.
But here is the kicker: the bill would also grant amnesty to 1.7 million illegal aliens AND put them on a pathway to citizenship.
So not only are the Republicans demanding that Trump give up on his plan to secure the Southern Border, but they also want him to legalize all of Obama"s illegal aliens and give them full citizenship! And if Pelosi wanted to cut the border funding a year or two down the road, the illegal aliens would get to keep their amnesty.
This is bad. Really bad.
Republicans have had two years to come up with a bill to give President Trump border wall funding and here, at the eleventh hour, they"re pushing an amnesty surrender package...
Tell Congress right now that they MUST kill this Republican amnesty plan before it"s too late!
It is absolutely disgusting. President Trump is demanding that Congress fund the border wall and all the GOP can think about is giving citizenship to illegal aliens.
This is the legislation that the GOP is bringing forward and they"re trying to run out the clock to give President Trump no other choice!
This is it. Congress must pass a spending package by the end of the week.
Do not let them block the border wall funding! Do not let these GOP cowards surrender and give amnesty and citizenship to well over a million illegal aliens!
