In 75 days, the House and Senate both plan to take massive month and a half long vacations.
President Trump just met with congressional leaders and gave them an ultimatum: either cancel their vacation and pass the Trump agenda -- namely authorizing the wall and confirming the President's 300+ nominees -- or else pack their bags and prepare for a permanent vacation.
President Trump took to social media to make sure we all knew the demand that he issued to Congress.
"[Congress] should get funding done before the August break, or not go home. Wall and Border Security should be included. Also waiting for approval of almost 300 nominations, worst in history. Democrats are doing everything possible to obstruct, all they know how to do. Stay!"
The GOP leadership is trying to run out the clock again. They think they can go on a month and a half long vacation without passing the Trump agenda. They think they can go sit on a beach while 300+ government offices remain vacant and the border stays unsecure.
Trump has issued the ultimatum. If Congress doesn't authorize the President's border security package before they leave D.C., then they will be removed.
But he needs YOU to make that happen!
President Trump isn't afraid to lay down the law. He just made it crystal clear that if Congress sends a bill to his desk without border wall funding, he will throw it in the trash. If Congress goes on vacation without funding border security,
The President is also demanding an end to chain migration and the visa lottery. Currently, if someone wins the lottery and gets into the United States even though they have no skills, they're also allowed to bring their whole family over as well. It's absolute madness.
And if these GOP cowards leave town without confirming Trump's nominees, it will be the final straw. They would rather go on vacation and leave Obama holdovers in government positions than do their jobs. They would rather protect liberal majorities on the country's appeals courts than add more conservatives to the bench.
Every time the President demands his immigration bill or demands for Congress to confirm his judicial and executive branch nominees, the GOP leadership says, "soon." Then, when it's finally time for them to make good on this promise, McConnell and Ryan say they've run out of time and will have to try again next time.
This is the excuse they have used nine times since the 2016 election. They just keep kicking the can down the road.
President Trump just told them, "no more." If they would rather go on vacation than do their jobs, they will be removed. But it is up to you to back him up and hold Congress' feet to the fire!
Make no mistake, the GOP leadership and establishment is full of cowards. These are men and women who are so terrified of having to fulfill their campaign promises, that they're actually counting down the days until their massive vacation.
President Trump just drew the line in the sand and gave Congress the ultimatum: pass border security and confirm his nominees or else they will be removed.
Now it is time to hammer that threat home!
