This is not a drill.

We just learned that top Establishment Republicans are currently working with gun control Democrats behind closed doors to craft a new gun confiscation bill.

The push is being led by Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham, and they are working with the queen of gun control herself: Dianne Feinstein.

That's right, the woman who has authored every single assault weapon ban is now working with Republicans on a "compromise" gun control bill.

What is this compromise? Do gun owners get anything in return?

No. This bill would create a new Federal disarmament program to let local, state, and federal agents confiscate your firearms without even charging you with a crime...

It is that bad...

Right now, there are only a few ways that the government can suspend your 2nd Amendment rights.

Most of the time, guns are confiscated because of a felony or misdemeanor domestic violence conviction or a mental health adjudication. Other reasons for disarmament are dishonorable discharges from the military, involuntary admission into a mental hospital, or the subject becoming a fugitive from justice.

It isn't easy for the Federal government to take your guns away and that's how it should be. The bar is set deliberately high. The 2nd Amendment was designed to let Americans protect themselves, their families, and their communities from all enemies, foreign and domestic. As improbable as it is, that includes a defense against a tyrannical Federal government.

This new proposal would allow law enforcement to confiscate Americans' firearms based upon nothing but hearsay.

Under the proposal, family members, neighbors, friends, and even complete strangers would be allowed to turn gun owners into the police if they are worried the person might pose a threat to himself or others.

It would then be up to the gun owner to hire a lawyer and prove to a judge that he isn't homicidal or suicidal. While the details are still being worked out, the draft proposal would allow a judge to seize someone's guns for 6 to 12 months.

All of this is without even charging someone with a crime, let alone convicting them. This is not due process. This is a gun grab.

This is nothing but an effort to turn the principles of American justice upside-down. Gun owners would be considered guilty until proven innocent.

If this bill passes, there will be no turning back.

You CANNOT allow Congress to pass this gun confiscation bill!

We had known that there was a House bill that was making its way towards a vote. It is being co-sponsored by Michigan Reps. Debbie Dingell (D) and Fred Upton (R). They claim to have at least a dozen GOP co-sponsors so far.

Now we know that there is a similar effort going on in the Senate with Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham working with Dianne Feinstein to come up with a "compromise" gun confiscation bill.

No one wants criminals or the mentally ill to have firearms. But the solution is not to open up millions of law abiding Americans to gun confiscations. This proposal simply goes too far.

This is moving fast. If they bring these bills to the floor, there won't be time to stop it.

We need to nip this in the bud now!
