The Democrats have one goal: Delay Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court for as long as possible. They are hoping that democrats can retake Congress in November and block him permanently.
Now, we know how they plan to do it. Chuck Schumer held a press conference yesterday announcing that he is filing a lawsuit against the National Archives to seize millions of records from when Kavanaugh worked in the Bush White House. The Senate has already received tens of thousands of relevant documents. But you see, the Democrats believe that’s not enough.
They would subpoena Kavanaugh’s middle school art projects if they thought it could help them.
But this really isn’t about the documents. Sure, if Democrats could find something there to help stop Kavanaugh, they would use it. But their main plan is to delay as long as possible.
The Supreme Court reconvenes on October 1. Not only are they hearing half a dozen cases in that first week, but the Justices are also meeting for a conference to decide which cases to hear next. That list includes key pro-life, pro-gun, and immigration cases. Democrats know that if they can stall Kavanaugh’s confirmation even just a few weeks, they can cause immeasurable damage.
They must be stopped!
If Brett Kavanaugh is not on the bench by October 1, there is no telling what damage could be done. Liberal lower-court rulings would be left in place and the Liberal justices would have the votes to block key Conservative cases from even reaching the highest court.
Take a case out of Hawaii, as an example. A three-judge panel for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals just ruled that Americans have a right to openly carry a gun in public. This is a big deal because Hawaii has a de facto ban on civilians carrying firearms. The next step for this case is to reach the Supreme Court. If Kavanaugh is on the bench when this case comes up for conference, the conservative Justices will have the votes to move it forward. If Democrats can block Kavanaugh, then the full 9th Circuit will get a chance to overrule the panel's decision.
This is just one single case, but the consequences of Brett Kavanaugh being stalled or blocked would be incalculable. Go down the list of every Conservative issue and the Court is set to hear or consider ruling on them.
We have been pressuring McConnell hard to move forward with Kavanaugh's confirmation. Last week, McConnell set the first hearing for September 4. That is why the Democrats are filing this lawsuit. If the Dems can throw a wrench in this and stall Kavanaugh's confirmation even for a couple of days, they can stop the Supreme Court from hearing cases on major Conservative issues.
McConnell is letting the Left move forward with these tactics. He simply can't bring himself to sidestep the rules on this. Mitch McConnell is more interested in preserving the Left's right to block this than he is in taking this country back.
It's shameful.
Just last month, Democrats were able to block one of Trump's 9th Circuit nominees. Ryan W. Bounds was nominated to be a District Judge in Oregon. Democrats demanded all of the documents on him and were able to find a handful of school newspaper articles that Bounds wrote when he was young.
They used these school paper articles to manufacture a scandal. On the day of Bounds' final confirmation vote, two Republicans abandoned the nominee and the White House was forced to pull his nomination.
This is their tactic. If they can convince even just one Republican to flip, they can kill Kavanaugh's nomination.
If the Democrats can win this lawsuit and force millions of documents into the record, then they can delay this process almost indefinitely.
And the Republicans are letting it all happen.
It's up to you to stop them from caving!
