Democrats just unveiled the most dangerous anti-gun legislation yet!

Leftists know that they won't be able to push through a complete gun ban as long as President Trump is in office. But they aren't stopping their push to limit the 2nd Amendment. Instead, they are getting creative to try to push through backdoor gun control.

Yesterday, Adam Schiff and other Congressional Democrats held a press conferencing unveiling their new gun control strategy. It is called the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act. This might sound like a good piece of legislation, but I promise you that the name is deceiving. This bill -- which is just three sentences long -- would allow gun control advocates to sue gun stores, distributors, and manufacturers anytime a gun is used in a crime.

Essentially, gun control advocates want the power to bankrupt the entire firearms industry. If someone uses a gun to commit a crime, then the Left wants to hold the company who sold them the gun legally responsible. We also see this with so-called "safe storage" laws that are popping up around the country. Instead of going after criminals who steal guns, the Left wants to punish gun owners for not locking up their firearms well enough...

In the late 1990s, the Left almost succeeded. Smith & Wesson was facing bankruptcy from frivolous lawsuits blaming them for their guns turning up at crime scenes. Congress intervened and passed the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, giving gun stores the same protection as other retailers. If someone uses a hammer to kill someone, Home Depot isn't legally responsible. The PLCAA  gave gun stores, distributors, and manufacturers the same exact legal protections.

And now, the Left wants to roll this back. They know that they won't be able to stop you from buying guns, so they want to come in through the backdoor and go after gun sellers.

Obama tried something like this when he was in office. His administration targeted ammunition manufacturers by shutting down lead plants in the US and placing new regulations on ammunition and gun powder manufacturing. The Obama administration banned millions of rounds of ammunition from being imported into the United States. They tried to redefine "armor piercing" to ban regular hunting and target shooting ammunition and almost succeeded in banning lead ammunition on public lands.

All of these backdoor ammunition bans would have succeeded. Luckily, brave patriots like you pressured Congress to block these radical regulations and executive orders before they went into effect.

Democrats are committed to trampling on the Constitution, by any means necessary. They are working overtime to figure out new ways to chip away at your 2nd Amendment rights.

But this is about more than just bankrupting gun sellers. The Left wants to use this to pressure gun companies to stop manufacturing certain types of firearms. Last year, gun control organizations sued Remington, the company that manufactured the AR-15 used in the Sandy Hook shooting. Their argument was that AR-15s are too dangerous for civilians to own, and that Remington should have known better.

Just like in the 1990s, they are trying to use these lawsuits to force the industry to self-regulate. If the Left can't pass their assault weapon ban, then they will sue any company that manufacturers semi-automatic rifles until their either agree to stop of go bankrupt.

This bill is nothing but a backdoor gun ban. Democrats know that they face an uphill battle trying to impose their gun control agenda on the country. This bill would let them outsource their plan to gun control organizations instead. Instead of Congress banning assault weapons, this new legislation would allow gun control groups to sue AR-15 manufacturers out of business.

When it comes to constitutional rights, if you don't use them, you lose them.

If you don't force Congress to kill this bill, the Left will find a way to push it through.
