Paul Ryan thought he won. He thought that he had stopped President Trump's wall.
In the deal he negotiated with Democrats, Ryan only provided 1.6 billion for border security and allowed the left to add an amendment prohibiting construction of Trump's border wall prototypes.
Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi cheered that Trump would only be allowed to build tiny fences. So, Trump hit back and ordered the construction of 30 foot tall steel wall. The first segments were installed yesterday.
While the walls aren't any of the prototypes that Trump wanted, they are just as tall and allow Border Patrol agents to see through to the other side.
But he's not done. President Trump is also working with Pentagon officials to move over some military funds to construct the border wall.
The Establishment is absolutely livid. Not just Democrats, but also Republicans. For years, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have been telling everyone that a border wall won't happen. Since President Trump's election, there have been seven different spending bills brought to the floor and everyone of them prohibited border wall construction.
That wasn't an accident. That was Paul Ryan's design.
Now, not only is Trump using the money they gave him to build a 30 foot steel wall, but he is also looking at siphoning DoD funds to make the wall a military project.
Already, the Establishments of both parties are crafting legislation to stop Pres. Trump from moving forward.
Do Not Let This Happen!
As President, Donald Trump is the Commander in Chief of the Military. That gives him wide discretion over how to use funds appropriated by Congress.
He has some authority to reallocate resources if he determines that a border wall is a defense and national security issue.
President Trump met with Paul Ryan last week and floated the idea of military funding being used to build the wall. According to reports, Speaker Ryan blasted the President and told him that if he tried to do this, Congress would fight him.
Already, Democrats are living up to that promise. Cryin' Chuck Schumer announced that if Trump tries to have the military construct the border wall, he would take the President to court.
This is all about running out the clock. If Democrats take back more seats in November, they'll have the votes to block a border wall from ever happening.
That is what Paul Ryan wants. That is why in every single budget bill that has crossed his desk, Paul Ryan has stripped out the border wall funding.
Trump is moving forward. He knows it is now or never. But he needs YOUR help too!
It really is now or never. President Trump is trying everything he can to build the wall, but he needs your help. He needs you to hold Congress' feet to the fire and demand full approval for the border wall.
Years from now, history books will write about this time. They will either write about how entrenched establishment politicians kept our borders wide open or how brave Patriots rose up to demand border security and restored sovereignty. We are at a pivotal point in our history right now.
