Surrender alert: Republicans are caving and agreeing to pass the Left's massive amnesty legislation!
We have been covering the crisis at the Southern Border for months. Both political parties are to blame. Congressional Democrats and Republicans have refused to pass legislation to fix the crisis.
Why? The both parties' establishments are holding out for the biggest amnesty bill in American history.
The GOP has been scheming to pass "comprehensive" immigration reform for years. Just to be clear, the only thing "comprehensive" means is that the legislation would trade increased border security in exchange for mass amnesty.
When Congress tried this in 2014, the American people revolted against the GOP and forced them to back down.
But today, Democrats control the House of Representatives and they are demanding mass amnesty -- and a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens -- before any additional border security provisions are passed.
Just so we're clear: the Democrats are holding this country hostage, allowing illegal aliens to pour into this country and overrun Border Patrol agents in order to leverage legislation to give all of these illegals amnesty and citizenship. And the crisis at the border is getting so bad, the GOP leadership is agreeing to go along with it!
The bill is called the American Dream and Promise Act (H.R. 6). This legislation used to be called the Dream Act, but Democrats recently added "American" to the beginning because they're getting ready to push it to the floor.
Just let that sink in. The Left has become so radicalized, they believe a mass amnesty bill is necessary to protect the "American Dream." They actually believe that citizenship has been "promised" to millions of illegal aliens.
That's right, this bill would give amnesty and a pathway to citizenship to millions of illegal aliens.
In the first 48 hours after being introduced, the "American" Dream and Promise Act picked up over 210 co-sponsors. That is a Congressional record.
This has always been the Left's end-goal: keep the borders open for as long as possible and then push through legislation granting them amnesty and a pathway to citizenship. All along, Democrats have been importing Democrat voters...
The crisis is getting so bad at the border, however, that Republicans are starting to cave to the Left's demands. This is a trap!
This is the same trick that the Left pulled in the 1980s. They convinced Reagan and the Republicans to give amnesty to illegal aliens and promised to fully secure the border in return. Predictably, as soon as the amnesty went into effect, the Left blocked the border security provisions from going into effect.
When George W. Bush came into office, his administration started cracking down on illegal immigration. Democrats struck a "deal" and promised to increase border security if Bush agreed to relax immigration enforcement. The President agreed, but the Left blocked funding from being appropriated to the wall project.
Now, the Left is trying to do the same to Trump. They and the so-called moderate Republicans have spent the past two years working nonstop to block Trump from securing the border. Now that Border Patrol agents are being literally overrun, Democrats are trying to do it again. They want the "American" Dream and Promise Act and are swearing that if Republicans give amnesty and citizenship to millions of illegals, they will finally let Trump secure the border.
The Left is holding our national security hostage to further their own amnesty agenda. And now the GOP leadership is agreeing to back the plan!
This bill is absolutely horrible. Not only does it grant amnesty and citizenship to millions of illegal aliens -- including criminal illegal aliens -- but it also does the same for people in the country with what is known as "temporary protected status." Essentially, when a hurricane, earthquake, famine, or other natural disaster hits a foreign country, we open our doors to bring people in on a temporary basis. We let these legitimate refugees in under the requirement that when conditions in their home country improve, they have to go back.
But that isn't what happens. We have more than 300,000 of people in the United States under the TPS program. Almost two-thirds are from El Salvador and are only here because there was an earthquake in their country back in 2001. Their country has rebuilt, and while El Salvador is far from perfect, it isn't the disaster zone that justified bringing these refugees in.
Pelosi doesn't just want to let them stay here forever, but she wants to make every TPS recipient eligible for citizenship. So anytime there is a natural or manmade disaster anywhere in the world, the US government would be forced to givea way citizenship. It's insane.
This is the Democrat Party's endgame. After leaving the border unsecured for decades, they now want to give American citizenship to millions of illegal aliens in this country. They want to have them voting in time for the next midterm election...
If that happens, the Republic is finished. If the Democrat Party succeeds in adding millions of illegal aliens to the voter rolls, they are guaranteed to win for the next generation. They know this, that is why they are pushing so hard.
And the idiot Republicans just want to give it to them!
We have stopped these kinds of amnesty pushes before, but only by fighting back with everything we've got.
