Paul Ryan just gave the American people the finger.

After promising - completely promising - to fund the wall back in April, Paul Ryan got cold feet. He said he needed more time and swore that it would get done in September. Now, we're just a few weeks away from the deadline to pass next year's budget and Paul Ryan is changing his tune once again.

"There are very legitimate problems and concerns on the border that need to be addressed," Ryan admitted today, "but we're going to need more time to complete our appropriations process, especially in the Senate."

In other words, he's whispering more sweet nothings in our ears, promising one thing while telling us that he can't get it done. He wants us to keep waiting. If the wall is not funded during this budget process - right now - then the earliest it can happen is next September, if it even happens. He wants to make it so the wall remains unbuilt for at least half of Trump's first term in office.

We strongly opposed Ryan's plan back in April to kick the can down the road. After speaking with some Congressional staffers, we were reassured that the wall would definitely be built in September. Now, Paul Ryan is asking for another year.

We don't have another year to waste!

It’s slipping away! Send your message to Congress and promise that you will remove from office anyone who votes against border wall!

This is the ultimate betrayal. In a situation like this, you’d expect the Republican Speaker of the House to whip up the necessary votes. Ryan promised to build a wall/fence, after all. He campaigned for Vice President on a promise to secure the border.

What we got is the opposite. We got a strategy right out of the John Boehner playbook. Instead of pressuring Democrats to move right to get a budget bill passed, he is moving the entire Republican Caucus to the left!

I want to be really clear: Next year is an election year. Nothing ever gets done in an election year.

If turncoat Republicans are too afraid to fund a border wall now, how do you think they’ll act once they see their name on the ballot?

No, the time to force this through is right now. Now is the only time…

President Trump used his leverage. He threatened to shut down the government. What we learned is that Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are apparently willing to let the government shut down to kill the secure border agenda.

The media is out today trying to convince the American people that President Trump has abandoned the border wall and that it will not happen.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have proven that they don’t fear the President. They are saying they want to build the wall, but refused to turn those words into action. There have already been two spending bills since Trump was elected that could have included funding for the border wall. Now, they're claiming they need another year to think it over.
NO!
