Over the last several months, Conservative-Daily has kept you up to date with the ongoing Obamacare saga. We highlighted the major Constitutional problems with the legislation and why it will be repealed, at least in part, when the Supreme Court announces its ruling on Thursday. We want to make sure as many Americans as possible are educated on just how dangerous and expensive this piece of legislation really is. We must tell Congress to repeal the entire bill!!

Without getting into legal jargon and citations, Obamacare is unconstitutional because of the “Individual Mandate” found in the legislation. This mandate requires that every American purchase health insurance or pay a fine. The Constitution makes it clear that the Federal government does not have the power to compel a citizen to make a purchase.Make no mistake; the individual mandate makes Obamacare the most dangerous piece of legislation to our democracy in the history of the United States. If the Federal government can compel citizens to purchase a product, it can compel citizens to do ANYTHING.

The United States Congress passed Obamacare back in 2009; smack dab in the middle of the Great Recession. Instead of focusing on job creation and economic recovery, President Barack Hussein Obama decided to further over extend the United States budget by spending millions to pass an unconstitutional piece of legislation whose cost will further bankrupt our economy.Initial estimates had the legislation costing taxpayers in the United States at least $1.76 TRILLION dollars. That’s right, not billion with a “B”, but trillion with a “T”. However, the Congressional Budget Office has released new figures predicting that Obamacare is even more expensive than originally thought and is now estimating that the bill will cost tax payers $2.6 TRILLION dollars. The price tag for this abomination keeps going higher and higher. During a time of economic crisis, it is flat out STUPID to institute such a costly new measure. From a budgetary standpoint alone, Congress should repeal this bill if the United States ever hopes to climb out of our current economic woes. But hold on, it gets WORSE!
Not only will Obamacare cost taxpayers $2.6 trillion, but it will also RAISE taxes by $525 billion according to the Congressional Budget Office! To be certain, Obama was thorough in his shake down of the American taxpayer. There’s more; Obamacare raises the tax on prescription drugs for retirees by $4.5 billion and increases federal entitlement spending by $401 billion! We must demand that Congress act or our great-grandchildren will be stuck paying for Obama’s lack of financial discipline!

Constitutional and budget problems are not the only reason to sack this legislation; according to a recent Reuters poll, the majority of Americans are AGAINST the healthcare overhaul! 56% of Americans oppose Obamacare, with only 44% in favor of wasting taxpayer dollars. Moreover, 61% oppose the individual mandate and a STAGGERING 73% of independent voters oppose the entire piece of legislation. Obamacare is tragically flawed both constitutionally and economically. It punishes retirees and creates more taxes and government spending. It was a completely foolish idea from the get-go; it is time to put it out of its misery.
