This is the day we Conservatives have been waiting for…
Today, new Congressmen and Senators are being sworn in. That means that this is the last chance to challenge John Boehner’s Speakership!
Last year, Boehner was voted as the next Speaker of the House. But that vote isn’t final. He still needs to be voted Speaker by more than 50% of the House of Representatives today.
But that might not happen. It only takes 29 Republican votes against Boehner to force a second vote. This parliamentary maneuver hasn’t been done in more than 90 years when the election of Massachusetts Republican Frederick Gillett took NINE votes to become official.
Here’s how it works… In order for Boehner to be elected, he needs the support of half of the entire Congress. Not just half of Republicans, but half of the whole chamber. Since the Democrats are unlikely to support him, that means that his election can be held up by just a few dozen votes.
This is happening today! The number of no-votes against Boehner is growing. You need to stand up now and DEMAND that your legislators oppose this spineless RINO!
The vast majority of Conservatives are fed up with John Boehner. Polling suggests as many as 60% of all registered Republicans want their Representatives to vote against Boehner, but I believe that number is higher.
I haven’t met a single person who has ever said that John Boehner was doing a good job. Not one. And I talk to a lot of people. We get hundreds, if not thousands of emails a day and the message is clear: Get rid of Boehner!
It isn’t personal. Boehner just isn’t the man for the job.
Yet time and time again, these rank-and-file Republicans vote to re-elect John Boehner as Speaker of the House. Then they feign outrage when he panders to the left and abandons his Conservative ‘principles.’
I’ve had enough of this. I’ve had enough of watching these so-called Conservatives sell out the party.
We need leadership that will stand up to Obama’s lawless executive orders, not cave under the pressure. We need leadership that will use the power of the purse to rein in the White House, not one that will surrender that power (as Boehner has).
Literally ANYONE would be better than Boehner.
It will only take a few brave Congressmen to stand up and oppose Boehner’s re-election. As few as 29 will do the job and we are at least halfway there already!
Every hour, more Republicans join up to help fire John Boehner. It is up to you to make sure that your Congressman is one of them. It is up to you to make sure that every single Congressman and woman understands that the American people are done with Boehner!
Rep. Louie Gohmert has said that he is going to round up as many votes as he can. I’d love to see the election go to a second or third vote. I’d love to see John Boehner replaced and forced to answer for his actions.
Yesterday, the mainstream media was trying to downplay the ‘mutiny’ by saying only a handful of Congressmen were going to vote against Boehner. Today, the media won’t even give the total number. They’re afraid.
John Boehner represents the old way and the news media is terrified.
For far too long, RINOs have taken us for granted. They have just assumed that having an “R” next to their name would be enough to garner our support.
That ends today!
