Today, Congress is holding hearings on both Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch and the Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election. If either of these hearings produces breaking news, we will bring it to you.
Right now, however, we want to focus on illegal immigration, Trump’s wall, and Barack Obama’s amnesty programs.
President Trump’s Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has a white board in his office. On that board is every single campaign promise that then-Candidate Trump made. While there are forces at play in the White House to force Trump to move to the Left, Bannon is committed to making sure that the President honors each and every one of them.
Two of those promises were to build a wall and to repeal Barack Obama’s amnesty programs.
We are happy to report that there have been over 600 bids from companies interested in building the wall. That list will be reduced and companies will be asked to produce prototypes starting in April.
On the latter promise, however, there are members of the Trump administration that are deliberately blocking Pres. Trump from ending Obama’s illegal alien amnesty!
Last week, Pres. Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly met with Congressional Demorats.
These Democrats pressed him on President Trump’s immigration enforcement program and Sec. Kelly made a startling admission.
“I'm the best thing that happened to DACA ... it is still on the books,” Kelly told Democrats, "If you don't like the law we are enforcing, and I don't like many of them, please, please, please change the law.”
Excuse me?
DACA stands for “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.” It is an Obama promise not to deport illegal aliens brought into the US as children. Even though these illegal aliens cannot legally work or reside in the United States, President Obama gave them work permits and legal status.
The President simply does not have the constitutional or legal authority to permit illegal aliens to work in this country. Only Congress can grant that permission. To do so would be to rewrite immigration law.
President Trump promised on the campaign trail to end this unconstitutional and illegal amnesty program. We now know why he hasn’t done so yet.
Here we have the Secretary of Homeland Security begging Democrats to amend the law to give amnesty to illegals. He openly admits to disliking the laws he has to enforce and asked Democrats to “please, please, please” change the law to make amnesty permanent.
I have been warning about this for weeks that a push was coming to make Barack Obama’s amnesty programs permanent. Even though ICE is arresting more and more illegal alien criminals every week, this conspiracy to prop up Obama’s amnesty goes all the way to the top of the Department of Homeland Security.
We know that there are Turncoat Republicans in both the House and Senate eager to memorialize the DACA program into law. And here we have one of Trump’s own Cabinet Members meeting with Democrats and pleading with them to make the amnesty permanent.
This conspiracy – and that is exactly what it is, a conspiracy – is taking shape right in front of our eyes. While core supporters like Bannon are fighting to stay the course, the more liberal wing of the Republican Party is desperately trying to pull President Trump away from his bedrock promises. They are counting on you not noticing and not doing anything to stop them!
Both Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are on record multiple times over the past year criticizing then-Candidate Trump’s immigration proposals. They have both declared that the wall will never happen and that deportations will not be allowed to increase.
In case you forgot, Congressional Republicans were suing the Obama administration to block these amnesty programs from going into effect. Now that the election is behind them, they’re working to make them permanent.
If the RINOs in Congress team up with Democrats, they can make these illegal and unconstitutional programs permanent. This is terrifying.
Secretary Kelly’s comments breathed new life into the Bridge Act, a bill co-sponsored by Senators Diane Feinstein (CA) and Lindsey Graham (SC). It would take Obama’s amnesty directives, make them permanent, and prohibit the Trump administration from deporting millions of illegal aliens.
This legislation is dangerous and cannot be allowed to move forward!
Sincerely,
Joe Otto
