Last week, I told you about how Mitch McConnell used a parliamentary maneuver to protect RINOs from having to vote on defunding Planned Parenthood. He used a voice vote to shoot down Sen. Mike Lee’s (R-UT) amendment to defund Planned Parenthood so the GOP establishment wouldn’t have to go on record voting against it.
Well now, they have no choice. There is a vote TODAY in the Senate to defund these butcher shops. After today, Congress will be on record and we will know who supports the rights of the unborn and who believes your tax dollars should be given to an organization that literally sells the organs of aborted babies.
Rise up now and give Congress an ultimatum: defund Planned Parenthood or be removed from office!
This vote is going to be close. It’s not going to be a straight party-line vote and there will be some cross-over.
It will take 60 votes to get it this bill through.
Let me tell you what this legislation won’t do. It won’t put Planned Parenthood out of business. It would just pull the plug on the $500 million of taxpayer money the organization receives every year.
Why should the American taxpayers subsidize an organization that changes how they perform an abortion in order to harvest fetal organs? By the way, this is completely illegal.
The 1993 National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act is clear. The only way that human fetal tissue can be obtained is if “no alteration of the timing, method or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy was made solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue.”
Usually, feticides are administered to kill the unborn child before the abortion is performed. But feticide makes the organs unusable. So, when Planned Parenthood wants to sell the babies’ organs, they rip the baby apart limp from limb while the child is still alive.
Isn’t that just despicable?
The vote to defund this organization is today. If the legislation passes, it would take the half billion dollars that’s normally given to Planned Parenthood and spread it out to hundreds of other women’s health centers around the country.
The Democrats are already out in force claiming that this legislation would stop women from getting life-saving mammograms. Only problem? Planned Parenthood doesn’t perform mammograms… ever.
The Democrats are really starting to sweat. They know that the vote is going to be close so they are using every tool at their disposal – including lying – in order to save Planned Parenthood.
It’s time to pull out all the stops. Leave nothing on the table.
