Once again, Attorney General Eric Holder is in the “hot seat” for the latest Obamas scandal involving the Department of Justice illegally obtaining the records of the Associated Press telephone lines!
Attorney General Eric Holder recused himself from the congressional investigation. His “reasoning?” In spite of a DOJ guideline requiring him to personally approve a subpoena of news organization records, Holder told reporters and Congress that he had recused himself, and that Deputy Attorney General Jim Cole, who led the investigation, had issued it.” When will the administration heads realize that the “buck stops at the top?
There were immediate calls for Holder to resign coming from all sides, including Reince Priebus, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
This is an affront to our Constitutional freedoms of free speech. Let Congress know.
Like his boss, Eric Holder continued to “stonewall” when pressed by Congress in a congressional hearing on Wednesday.
Priebus called for Holder’s resignation: “Freedom of the press is an essential right in a free society. The First Amendment doesn’t request the federal government to respect it; it demands the federal government to obey it. Attorney General Eric Holder, in permitting the Justice Department to issue secret subpoenas to spy on Associated Press reporters, has trampled on the First Amendment and failed in his sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. Because Attorney General Holder has so egregiously violated the public trust, the president should ask for his immediate resignation. If President Obama does not, the message will be unmistakable: The President of the United States believes his administration is above the Constitution and does not respect the role of a free press.”
The president’s front man for the administration’s illegal activities is none other than Attorney General Eric Holder, the nation’s top law enforcement officer. In testimony before Congress on Wednesday, Holder made denials and could not remember details; and pawned the scandal off on his deputy! Even though he had knowledge of the wiretappings, he recused himself which he believes makes him totally innocent!
Let’s get this straight, Mr. Holder! You sold guns to Mexican drug dealers (in last year’s Fast and Furious scandal) that resulted in U.S. Border Agents being killed and wounded and you did nothing to STOP the Justice Department from trampling the First Amendment rights of the free press, yet you believe you can hide behind your personal decision to recuse yourself?
Mr. Holder: IT IS PAST TIME FOR YOU TO BE RELIEVED OF YOUR DUTY!!

The A.P. said that the Justice Department informed it on Friday that law enforcement officials had obtained the records for more than 20 telephone lines of its offices and journalists, including their home phones and cellphones. It said the records were seized without notice sometime this year.
The organization was not told the reason for the seizure. The timing, however, and the specific journalistic targets strongly suggested they are related to a continuing government investigation into the leaking of information a year ago about the Central Intelligence Agency’s disruption of a Yemen-based terrorist plot to bomb an airliner.
The disclosures began with an Associated Press article on May 7, 2012, breaking the news of the foiled plot; the organization had held off publishing it for several days at the White House’s request because the intelligence operations were still unfolding.
The President and CEO of the Associated Press, Gary Pruitt, wrote a fiery letter to the Attorney General on Monday, May 13, in response to the government over-reach into the AP news organization. He wrote: “There can be no possible justification for such an overbroad collection of the telephone communications of The Associated Press and its reporters. These records potentially reveal communications with confidential sources across all of the newsgathering activities undertaken by the AP during a two-month period, provide a road map of AP’s newsgathering operations, and disclose information about AP’s activities and operations that the government has no conceivable right to know.”
“We regard this action by the Department of Justice as a serious interference with AP’s constitutional rights to gather and report the news.”

Even Liberals are calling for Eric Holder to resign or be fired. Former MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann tweeted against Holder: “Unacceptable. If Mr. Holder continues to support this rogue action, he should resign.”
Former Chairman of the California Democratic Party, radio talk-show host Bill Press, also called for Holder’s ouster.
Investigative reporter Carl Bernstein called the AP Scandal a “nuclear event.”
Yet President Obama said on Thursday he had “complete confidence” in Holder. We remember the old saying: “Birds of a feather…flock together!”
Obama said there should be a “balance” between national security interests and freedom of the press. Both Holder and Obama want to take away that “freedom of the press.” And we should rise up against Eric Holder in a powerful way, by calling for his resignation!
