What a week it has been in the Pro-Life movement.
Arizona took a huge step towards defunding Planned Parenthood, Louisiana banned “dismemberment” abortions where abortion providers rip the unborn apart limb from limb, and South Carolina passed legislation to stop abortions after the 20th week (the point when the unborn start feeling pain).
Congressional Democrats tried, and failed, to shut down the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives and perhaps most importantly, the House committee launched a new investigation into an Abortion provider in Maryland who is murdering babies who are being born alive.
On that last one, my jaw hit the floor when I read it.
LeRoy Carhart is a butcher. He runs one of the only abortion clinics in the country where a woman can get an abortion after the six-month mark of their pregnancy and he has been responsible for dozens of botched abortions that have sent women to the hospital.
These are children that, if born alive and taken care of, could grow into adulthood. I was born premature and the thought that people in my situation are being killed after being born alive is absolutely terrifying.
This abortionist butcher makes a living killing viable and living children. It is impossible to perform a normal abortion at these late stages of pregnancy because the baby is too developed, so he has allegedly developed a procedure where the babies are brought into this world alive and then summarily murdered. Even worse -- as if it can get worse than murdering babies -- he is doing it for profit. He's selling their organs.
This is what we are up against. Babies are being born alive and then immediately killed. LeRoy Carhart has been subpoenaed to testify tomorrow before the committee and answer for his alleged crimes.
We used to care for the weak and vulnerable in this country. We used to stand on principle.
It has been almost two years since the Pain Capable Unborn Child Prevention Act was introduced in Congress and still to this day, it has not been passed by both chambers.
It is time to put these butchers out of business!
That’s what it really is to them: a business. These abortion providers fly all across the country to perform these horrific procedures.
Even with as open as the laws are, however, they still cannot control their greed. They continue to push the boundary until they are giving birth to babies and then murdering them as they take their first gasp of air.
The cry of a newborn child is supposed to be a beautiful sound, not a symptom of the pain they’re being subjected to as they are brought into the world.
The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would stop all of this. It would outlaw abortions after 20-weeks – the point at which the unborn start to feel pain. This would put butchers like Carhart out of business.
When a surgeon has to operate on a 20+ week child in-utero, he or she must administer anesthesia for the surgery to be ethical. These doctors pledged to do no harm and to operate on a living being that can feel pain would be completely unethical.
So there are laws and regulations in place to protect the unborn during surgery, but these abortion monsters can dismember living children inside the womb with no questions asked?
This is how backwards our country has become…
With South Carolina passing the 20-week abortion ban, there are now 17 states where it is illegal to kill a baby after 20-weeks.
But Congress still cannot get its act together.
On September 22nd, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act came just 6 votes shy of meeting the 60-vote threshold in the Senate. Since then, there have been ZERO attempts to resurrect it or pass it with a lower threshold by going through the reconciliation process.
It is estimated that this legislation would save 27 unborn children every single day. In the 243 days since Congress gave up on protecting the unborn, that means that 6,561 of these babies have been murdered.
This is the price of Congressional inaction... This is the price of our silence…
