Congressional hearings are seemingly non-stop this week as various Congressional committees and sub-committees try to get to the bottom of various Internal Revenue scandals!
The most obvious was testimony heard on Tuesday by various Conservative groups as they testified of the IRS over-reach simply because they were “Conservative” or “Tea Party” supporters. They told lawmakers how the Internal Revenue Service targeted them with relentless paperwork and intrusive questions when they sought tax-exempt status.
“Americans were affected by the culture of political intimidation and discrimination that was cultivated by this targeting,” said Rep. Dave Camp R-MI), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. “For simply exercising their First Amendment rights -- the freedoms of association, expression and religion, the IRS singled them out.”
U. S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), heading up another House investigation, did not mince words on last weekend’s television talk shows. Congressional investigations must continue until someone or several people are held criminally accountable!
Darrell Issa claims the IRS agents in Cincinnati who were involved in targeting conservative groups were “being directly ordered from Washington!” He also accused the White House of lying about the involvement of HQ officials at the IRS in Washington, DC.
Issa also called White House Press Secretary Jay Carney a “paid liar”. When Issa appeared on CNN’s “Face the Nation,” he retorted: “The administration is still – their paid liar, their spokesperson, picture behind – he’s (Jay Carney) still making up things about what happens and calling this local rogue.
“The reason that Lois Lerner tried to take the Fifth (Amendment when called to testify before Congress) is not because there’s a rogue in Cincinnati. It’s because this is a problem that was coordinated in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters and we’re getting to proving it!”
To add to the mix, the Inspector General’s report released on Tuesday says the IRS spent about $50 million to hold at least 220 conferences for employees between 2010 and 2012! The tax agency spent about $49 million on 225 conferences from fiscal 2010 to 2012, it said. Two top IRS officials stayed in presidential suites that typically cost between $1,499 and $3,500 a night in Anaheim, the most expensive of the conferences, the report said.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform plans a hearing on the IRS spending, TODAY!
Of course the White House says President Barack Obama is “concerned” by excessive spending by the Internal Revenue Service and other agencies on conferences and travel. After all, he needs to try to “diffuse” the various scandals his embattled administration is facing!
Maybe it was the employee’s reward for harassing Conservative groups?
The public outrage is obvious! Americans are totally fed up with the IRS looking over our shoulder. No, not just because we pay taxes, but because the IRS is spearheading an attack (or audit) on those who have Conservative thoughts! Or, they are substantially delaying their 501(c) 3 or 501(c) 4 tax-exempt statuses.
It is quite obvious that many lawmakers have heard the outrage from their constituents! We cannot even number all the proposed pieces of legislation that have cropped up in the past three days by various Congressmen. Like you, our Congress is upset!
Of the over one dozen pieces of legislation that has been birthed from this IRS scandal (They have only touched the surface; so far!), we need to make sure that SOMEONE IS FOUND CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT for snooping on Conservatives and others!
As House Speaker John Boehner says: “My question isn’t about who is going to resign. My question is who is going to jail?”
Please make sure that Congress investigates FULLY why the Internal Revenue Service targeted Conservative groups!!

Who is to blame? President Barack Obama!
On May 13, President Obama said that he just found out about it through the news media! WHAT? No way! And news reporters, both Conservative and Liberal, have attested that the “Commander-in-Chief” knew all about the IRS targeting long before then! Yes, another LIE from the President!
U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan (R-FL) said: “More heads need to roll!” Even liberal Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-MA) stated: “There will be hell to pay!”
Will you help to send a crystal-clear message to Congress that the American people want transparency and accountability from Washington!
Urge our Congress to get to the very bottom of this outrage!
Those who “toy” with the United States Constitution really need to come clean. Some need to be fired. Some may even need to go to jail.
At least five different IRS offices illegally targeted conservative nonprofit groups between 2010 and 2012: Cincinnati, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Chicago, Illinois; Laguna Niguel and El Monte, California. The administration has already tried to blame these “low-level” IRS organizations, but the real truth is that the orders came from the top---the very top!
Illegal targeting of conservatives goes against the U.S. Constitution and is ILLEGAL!
Don’t let Congress give anyone a “free pass.” Accountability is mandatory!
