The Senate is Our Last Stand to Stop Gun Control

The House just passed a sweeping gun control package after a 6 hour hearing filled with misinformation and political grandstanding.

The only thing standing between complete government tyranny and the 2nd Amendment is the Senate.

Five Republicans voted for the bill: Reps. Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio, Fred Upton of Michigan, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Chris Jacobs of New York.

The “Protecting Our Kids Act” will raise the legal age to purchase certain rifles from 18 to 21 years old, ban high capacity magazines and initiate a federally funded “buyback program” for such magazines, and strengthen criminal penalties to enforce residential storage regulations on firearms. Another component of the legislation would tighten regulations on ghost guns.

The Democrats will need to convince 10 Republican Senators to agree to the legislation, which will make passing the bill into law difficult.

We must never surrender our rights to the demands of tyrants. History shows us the consequences of a disarmed populace. When the people are left defenseless, tyranny and genocide take root. We as Americans cannot take this direct attack on our Constitutional rights lightly!
