Today, John Kerry and his French counterpart are meeting with 70 other countries to brainstorm how to impose peace on Israel.
We are getting a first look at the draft resolution and it is as bad as we thought.
Not only will the conference impose “peace” on the Israelis, but the draft declares that the International community “will not recognize” Israel unless the Israelis give up all the territory they have acquired since 1967. This would essentially take away 10-15% of all of Israel’s territory and make the remaining land indefensible against rocket and ground attacks.
This conference is just 5 days before Trump takes office. The French say that this is intentional; it is an attempt to force the Trump administration to accept the international community’s agenda.
How did Trump respond? By inviting even more Israelis to his inauguration!
Now, Kerry and the French are planning to push this resolution through the UN in the final days they have left.
It has never been more important to pull the plug on the UN.
I understand that not everyone agrees on Israel. What is important is that this issue can serve as a conduit to defund the United Nations entirely.
The administration’s decision to attack Israel in the final days of the Obama Presidency has created peculiar alliances.
Ted Cruz has joined with Lindsey Graham to introduce legislation to defund the UN. Even Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has joined in bashing the Obama administration over their decision to throw Israel under the bus.
The point is that there is so much bipartisan opposition to what Obama is doing that the votes are there to not only pass this bill, but to do it now and override an Obama veto.
In 5 days, we will take back control of Washington DC and the new administration will be able to block any and all anti-Israel resolutions from moving forward in the United Nations.
But until then, Obama retains all the power and as we saw in his most recent decision to abstain at the UN Security Council, he is more than willing to use it against Israel.
Whether this is your issue or not, we can all agree that the UN needs to be defunded. The $3 billion that we give the UN every year is the biggest waste of money in the entire budget.
If this is what it takes to pull the plug on this leftist organization, then sign me up!
