CONGRESS: There are only a handful of working days left for this 117th Congress. Speaker Pelosi is out in the press, pushing to raise the debt ceiling before Republicans take the gavel. While we should assume that you understand the impacts of raising the debt ceiling on your constituents, your behavior doesn't provide confidence that you have any idea. Please take this moment to understand what you're doing and how it impacts current and future generations of Americans.

The taxpayer liability for the National Debt is published as more than $31,000,000,000,000. This includes the debt in the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds, but EXCLUDES unfunded Social Security and Medicare promises. 

What that means is that the real debt – which includes assets and liabilities reported in the Financial Report of the U.S. Government as well as unfunded Social Security and Medicare promises – is more than 147,000,000,000,000.

When Politicians scream about, "cutting medicare and social security," you paint a picture of evil, money hungry GOPers picking the pockets of American seniors. We heard lots of this during the campaign. But what you are actually railing againts is solving this 147 trillion dollar problem.

You want to keep spending. You can't stop. You're addicted to spending, despite the pain you're causing everyday Americans -- of all colors and creeds.

In the past 20 years, the debt increased more than 300%. Just 20 years ago, a child born into the United States was born with $60,000 in debt. Today, an American child is born with close to $1,000,000. 

You are writing checks that our children have to cash. You’re enslaving the American people to fund your personal fever dreams. And you’re still looking to make that number larger.

This is despicable, disgusting, and immoral. Justice is coming. 

DEMAND FOR REMEDY: STOP ENSLAVING OUR CHILDREN! DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING!
