This morning, we awoke to news that a gunman had targeted GOP Members of Congress who were practicing for an upcoming charity baseball game. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was injured along with three others.
Police revealed the shooter to be James Hodgkinson from Illinois. He reportedly asked whether the Members of Congress on the field were Republicans or Democrats and only opened fire after learning they were Republicans. Hodgkinson was a rabid Trump-Hater and volunteered on the Bernie Sanders campaign.
On his Facebook page, the shooter wrote that "Trump is a traitor. Trump has destroyed our democracy. It's time to destroy Trump & Co." He was driven to try to murder Republican Congressmen and Senators because of the fake news being peddled by CNN, MSNBC, and yes, Democrat Members of Congress.
Democrats are now using this tragedy to push gun control. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe took the microphone at the press conference this morning and declared twice that 93 million Americans die everyday from gun violence. Yes, he is that dumb.
This shooter declared on social media that Trump and his allies had to be destroyed. Then, he went out and tried to do just that.
This falls on the Democrats. They have spent the last year and a half demonizing Trump - calling him a traitor and a facist - and now one of their own has taken action on it.
We are calling on Congress to shut down this nonsense. Put an end to the witchhunts that continue on, even though everyone admits there is no evidence of any crimes. Censure every single Democrat Member of Congress who spews this hatred.
You have clowns like Congresswoman Maxine Waters leading chants at Democratic rallies to impeach the President, even though he was never under investigation. Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi demanding that Trump cabinet members be removed from office for literally no reason.
And that doesn't even get to what we've seen in the media. Kathy Griffin holding a severed Trump head? A New York Times-funded play stabbing a Trump lookalike to death? Is it really any surprise that a crazed leftist decided to open fire on Republican Members of Congress playing baseball?
And now, we have a Republican Congressman in the hospital because one of the left's crazy followers took their advice and took action against Trump's Congressional allies.
It has to stop.
The GOP has allowed this witchhunt to go on long enough. They have allowed Democrat Congressmen and Senators to peddle lies and gin up their supporters to the point of violence. Even last week, after James Comey admitted that he told President Trump that he was never under investigation, these clowns went out in front of cameras and continued to peddle the lies that he was.
And now they have the gall to push gun control? After their own rhetoric drove a crazed Bernie Sanders-supporter to buy a gun he wasn't even legally allowed to own and use it to shoot at Congressmen and Senators, they want to limit our rights?
