When Barack Obama was in office, he used his power to cede our sovereignty to the UN. When Obama couldn't get his gun control agenda through Congress, he turned to the UN and signed onto the Small Arms Trade Treaty. Even though Congress never ratified it (as the constitution required), Obama worked with the UN to make it harder for Americans to import guns into the country. Had Hillary won in 2016, she would have been able to implement Phase 2 and help the UN create a registry of American gun owners.
When Obama couldn't get his climate initiative through Congress, he again signed onto a UN treaty without Congressional ratification. The Paris Climate Accords were literally designed to redistribute American wealth to help other countries develop green energy programs. It would have set harsh limits on our emissions, all while allowing China and India to pollute the world.
Obama did the same with the Global Migration Pact, allowing UN bureaucrats to flood the US with unvetted Middle Eastern migrants. When Congress wouldn't approve the Iran nuclear deal, Obama went through the UN to make it binding anyway. The list literally goes on and on...
President Trump withdrew from all of these agreements and treaties, restoring American sovereignty in the process. But now, the UN is back to try to reduce our power and redistribute our wealth yet again!

Antonio Guterres (shown above) is the Secretary General of the United Nations (and no friend of the United States). Yesterday, Guterres gave a speech calling for a new world order; one where the United States is no longer in control. And of course, like so many tyrant politicians these days, he is using Covid-19 as the excuse to do it...
"The COVID-19 pandemic has brought home the tragic disconnect between self-interest and the common interest; and the huge gaps in governance structures and ethical frameworks. To close these gaps, and to make the New Social Contract possible, we need a New Global Deal to ensure that power, wealth, and opportunities are shared more broadly and fairly at the international level."
Guterres then went on to explain that capitalism is the enemy. He likened the world to an ocean where countries like the United States are sailing around in yachts while the rest of the world is left clinging to floating debris...
I usually try to avoid using phrases like "New World Order" because many people consider any mention of the term to be a conspiracy theory. But that is precisely what the UN is trying to do here. Guterres literally is saying that the United States and other western countries like the UK and France do not deserve a seat at the table.
The UN Secretary General is demanding a "new model for global governance," even if it has to be imposed on unwilling countries... The crazy part is that the United Nations is actually serious. They believe they can use Covid-19 as an excuse to chip away even more at our sovereignty and reduce our power.
What is even crazier is that they plan to do this all with American funding. Right now, the United States sends the UN and its sister organizations around 10 billion a year. If you remember, back in April, Guterres demanded that we increase that to almost 2 Trillion in "donations" per year to help launch the UN's new world order to combat the Coronavirus. Now, the United Nations is calling in what they claim we owe them...
We owe the United Nations NOTHING.
It is time to pull the plug and Congressman Mike Rogers (R-AL) has a bill that would do just that. It is called the American Sovereignty Restoration Act. It would cut off all funding to the United Nations, kick UN soldiers off American territory, make it illegal for UN officials to ever give commands to the American military, and suspend the diplomatic immunity that UN officials enjoy on United States soil. In other words, this bill would finally kick the UN to the curb!

Congress is running out of time to pass the 12 spending bills necessary to avoid a government shutdown in September. That includes the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, which governs how much funding goes to the UN every year.
Democrats want to increase our funding to the UN to help make this 'new world order' happen.
