It seems like it should go without saying. But the number one way to disqualify someone from holding the highest office in the land would be for them to advocate genocide against their political opponents.

Or at least, that was what you would think. Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) did just that last year, warning gun owners on twitter that if they dared oppose his gun confiscation plan, they would go to war against the United States Government.

"And it would be a short war my friend," Swalwell wrote to a Conservative on Twitter. "The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they're legit..."

The "honorable" Congressman immediately tried to walk it back, but the damage was already done.

And yet, not only did Swalwell run for President, but he made the first Democratic Primary Debate stage. That might seem like a given since there are so many Democrats running. But there actually were some candidates who failed to make the debate...

And when Swalwell took the stage, he immediately began taking shots at Frontrunner Joe Biden, using the former-Vice President's own words against him, that it was time for him to pass the torch to the younger generation.

Alas, Swalwell's debate stage promise to "break up with Putin and make-up with Nato" wasn't enough to save his <1% campaign and he officially decided to call it quits.

And with that we have the first, and certainly not last, Democrat to drop out of the race.

But if you thought the field would narrow after Swalwell's departure, you're wrong. Billionaire Tom Steyer threw his just threw his hat in the ring, promising to run on a campaign almost exclusively about impeaching Donald Trump. Someone should tap Steyer on the shoulder and explain that if he won the Presidency, the issue of impeachment would be moot...
