Censorship & Election Interference Continues:
RFK Silenced at Congressional Hearing & Online
Kennedy warned about the dangerous implications of stifling free expression and highlighted the risks of government abuse of power. This comes in the aftermath of a hearing on federal government censorship, where Kennedy faced false accusations and attempts to silence him for his controversial views on COVID-19 and vaccines.
In many of his statements, Kennedy stresses that free speech is the cornerstone of a free society, drawing parallels with historical instances where censored parties were never the "good guys." He argued that giving the government the power to censor critics would enable potential atrocities, emphasizing the need for bipartisan support in safeguarding free speech. Ironically, Kennedy is currently being used as the mainstream media's "scapegoat" and is a primary target of censorship due to his "controversial" views that are in opposition to his party and mainstream beliefs. Along with being censored, the mainstream media has consistently misrepresented statements that Kennedy has made regarding vaccines, and has thus labeled him a radical "anti-vaxxer," despite him advocating for modern medicine, including vaccines.
During the hearing on federal government censorship, House Democrats attempted to silence Kennedy, accusing him of violating House rules with defamatory statements and degrading testimony. Democrats attempted to have Kennedy’s speaking time, which was originally set to 10 minutes, lessened to 5 on the grounds of defamation and degradation of testimony. Despite efforts to remove him and limit his speaking time, Kennedy was allowed to testify due to the Republican majority in the committee, who overruled the House Democrats' attempt to silence Kennedy and allow him to give his testimony.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 's defense of free speech and the challenges he faces from both within and outside his party highlights the ongoing debate over censorship and the boundaries of free expression. The censorship, silencing, and misrepresentation that Kennedy has faced since the announcement of his presidential campaign is yet another example of the mainstream media and our congressional members undermining the 1st amendment on the grounds of "false statements."
The concern that the media, along with politicians, are colluding to censor and smear presidential and other political candidates they are opposed to, like Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is grave. The media and their political cronies should not be the deciders of which candidate wins the nomination; the people should be the ones selecting their next representative.
