Biden White House to censor COVID vaccine skepticism
Fresh information has emerged through subpoenaed documents, emails, and reports that provide evidence of the Biden White House pressuring social media giants, particularly Facebook (now known as Meta), to censor content that questioned or criticized the COVID-19 vaccine. In response, Meta complied, with their stomachs up, like a good pup, did just that.
Representative Jim Jordan, the Ohio Republican who leads the House Judiciary Committee, is at the forefront of the effort to investigate and expose the Biden White House's influence over Meta. Jordan's committee has successfully subpoenaed numerous documents and emails, with plans to continue these efforts. The already subpoenaed documents and reports reveal communications between Biden White House officials and Facebook executives and employees.
In one report, Facebook's Director of Strategic Response, Rosa Birch, attempted to resist requests for censoring vaccine-skeptic content. She argued that such censorship would not only prevent hesitant individuals from discussing their concerns online, but also reinforce the perception of a cover-up. An April 2021 email from Birch to Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg discussed the mounting pressure from external stakeholders, including the White House and the press, to remove vaccine-discouraging content related to COVID-19.
Emails, from Facebook President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg showed similar sentiment to the Biden White House censorship as Rosa Birch, in which Clegg stressed the importance of American values pertaining to free speech. However, he later reversed his stance, requesting a reevaluation of the situation with the White House and its demands for censoring vaccine-related content.
Public, the Substack newsletter founded by independent journalist Michael Shellenberger, reported that “In July 2021, after a White House official demanded that Facebook censor more information.” Clegg, who originally questioned the White House’s demands for censorship, asked his colleagues to comply, reasoning that ‘the bigger fish we have to fry with the Administration — data flows etc…’ Clegg was referring to the EU and its demand that Facebook halt transferring European user data to the United States.
WOW! What a joke. It's a shame, a complete disregard to our Constitution, that the White House is able to pressure PRIVATE social media companies to suppress information that they deem “false.”
The subpoenaed documents, gathered by Jim Jordan, unmistakably reveal that the White House has harnessed its authority to subdue platforms meant for free speech and open dialogue. This isn't just an attack on our Constitution but also an assault on our nation's integrity.
