We have been calling for this for months. Nancy Pelosi has proven that she is unfit to serve as Speaker of the House. She has violated laws, divided this country, and put party politics over the needs of the American people.
We called for Nancy Pelosi's removal last December, when she led a delegation to the United Nations Climate Conference in Madrid, Spain after President Trump forbade any American representatives from attending (because he had withdrawn from the Paris Climate Agreement).
We called for her removal when she ripped up Donald Trump's State of the Union speech live on camera. Not only did this potentially violate the Federal Records Act, but it was beyond disrespectful and would have easily justified her removal.
Again, we called for Nancy Pelosi's removal when she held up coronavirus relief legislation in order to advance her own political agenda items. Americans lost their jobs and businesses went belly up because Pelosi prioritized things like additional foreign aid and a bailout for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (which promptly laid off its performers after receiving bailout funds).
But most notably, we called for her removal when she advanced bogus articles of impeachment against the President. It was the first time that the House of Representatives has ever impeached a President without even one vote from the President's party. We called for her removal when she refused to transfer the articles of impeachment to the Senate, violating Donald Trump's right to a speedy trial.
What Nancy Pelosi put this country through was absolutely shameful. Now, she is threatening to do it again. Luckily, the GOP seems to have found its backbone and just unveiled its plan to remove Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House!
This week, Nancy Pelosi went on television and warned that all options were on the table when it came to blocking President Trump from filling the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Ruth Bader Ginsburg. That included impeaching Donald Trump.
No, Democrats will not be able to actually remove Donald Trump from office. But the reason that Democrats are planning for this is because when the Senate receives articles of impeachment from the House of Representatives, they are not allowed to conduct any other business until the articles receive a final vote to convict or acquit. Democrats are planning a new impeachment push because they want to derail the Supreme Court confirmation by delaying it and making it impossible to confirm a Justice before the election.
This week, we led a MASSIVE campaign to put a stop to this madness. Again, not because the impeachment would actually succeed in removing President Trump from office, but because delaying the confirmation process even a couple days could prevent Trump's nominee from being confirmed in time to hear election disputes.
The GOP caucus held a meeting behind closed doors. Conservative members of the Freedom Caucus pushed for the GOP leadership to do more than just condemn Nancy Pelosi's rhetoric. They demanded that she be removed as Speaker of the House entirely for even suggesting that impeachment was on the table...
After a long back and forth, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy relented. And this week, he announced that the Republicans were finally moving forward with a plan to remove Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House!
"I will make you this one promise," McCarthy told reporters, "listening to the speaker on television this weekend, if she tries to move for an impeachment based upon the president following the Constitution, I think there will be a move on the floor to no longer have the question of her being Speaker. She may think she has a quiver — we do too."
After months of pushing for this, the Establishment Republicans finally caved and agreed that Nancy Pelosi has gone too far this time. If she pulls this new stunt, she must be removed from office.
But that's not good enough. Nancy Pelosi has already done enough to be removed as Speaker.
Now that we have the GOP's attention, it is up to you to force them to act NOW!
Kick her to the curb now!
