Don't let the name fool you. The Equality Act isn't actually about equality. It is about forcing the Left's radical cultural agenda onto the country.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 makes it a Federal crime to discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. We all know the history surrounding the Civil Rights movement and this landmark piece of legislation. Schools were refusing to enroll African American students, businesses were turning away black customers, states were institutionalizing discrimination...
The Civil Rights Act was the country's attempt to close one of the most disgusting parts of our history.
Today, however, Democrats want to expand the Civil Rights act. Specifically, they want to expand it to include protections on the basis of "sexual orientation" and "gender identity."
For years, the Left has tried to win this fight in the courts. After a few high profile setbacks, Democrats are now trying to push their radical agenda through Congress.
And they are voting on it this Friday!
Men are men and women are women. This truth has existed for the entire history of mankind. The Left's Equality Act would change that.
If a man thinks he's a woman, businesses, schools, and landlords would have to buy into his delusion. Stopping a deranged man from entering a women's bathroom or locker room, or preventing him from competing in women's sports, would be a Federal crime.
Earlier this year, Mary Gregory won multiple female weightlifting championships and world records. Mary dominated the field and "earned" a world record in the women's squat, benchpress, and deadlift. Onlookers had never seen such a strong woman. Well, that's because Mary Gregory wasn't a woman. He was a man. Just this week, the Powerlifting Federation revoked Mary's title and world records because, quite simply, he was a man competing against women.
I have mentioned this case before, but after professional fighter Fallon Fox (a biological man) entered a women's MMA fight last year, not only did he win by a knockout in just two minutes, but his female opponent left with a concussion and a shattered eye socket.
But this is about far more than just women's competitive athletics.
Yes, this bill would make it a crime to block biological men from using women's bathrooms. But it would also make it a crime for parents to prevent their children from "transitioning" to the other gender. Churches and devout business owners would all of a sudden face prosecution and persecution unless they changed their theology. Bakers, florists, and even officiants would face prison time and fines if they refused to participate in same-sex marriage ceremonies.
Christian adoption agencies would be shut down if they didn't abandon their faith. Christian hospitals could face fines if they refused to perform or refer for abortions. Pro-life pregnancy centers would lose access to federal funding. All businesses providing health insurance would have to pay for abortifacient coverage and the bill would open the door for full Federal funding of abortion procedures.
The military would no longer be allowed to block transgender applicants and would be forced to use American taxdol lars to fund soldiers' sex reassignment surgeries (sex changes).
Democrats are forcing a vote on this radical bill this Friday and they are already flipping Republicans to join them!
We can all agree that discrimination is horrible in all forms. But the "Equality Act" isn't about ending discrimination... It is about targeting people of faith and imposing the Left's radical gender agenda onto the country.
If you are a man or woman of faith; if you believe in the sanctity of life; if you support the 1st Amendment and the Freedom of Religion; or if you just think that men have no business in ladies' rooms, then I implore you: Fight back and STOP the Equality Act (H.R.5) before it's too late!
