The United Nations receives billions in funding from American taxpayers every year. What do they do with this funding? They use it to try to chip away at the United States' sovereignty.
President Trump has tried to use funding cuts to force the United Nations to reform. And for the first two years of his Presidency, it worked. UN agencies were quick to abandon their anti-American policies and rhetoric. But every time the spending packages came to a vote under Paul Ryan, the funding always managed to get slipped back into the bill...
Since the start of the year, however, the United Nations has gotten more vocal. The anti-American bureaucrats have started attacking us again, even trying to use the courts to force us to accept UN regulations on migration, gun control, and the environment. Just this week, the UN Human Rights Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet (shown above), ordered the Trump administration to shut down all immigration detention centers and release all illegal aliens in Federal custody.
Why has the UN suddenly returned to its anti-American footing? Well, Democrats now control the House of Representatives. The United Nations has been lobbying the Left for years to give them more funding. Now, their investment is paying off.
With Nancy Pelosi at the helm, not only is she promising to restore Pres. Trump's UN funding cuts, but she is actually pushing to increase America's contribution to the UN's budget.
The GOP and Democrats are currently negotiating over next year's State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act. Right now, as written, the bill increases funding to the UN and its partner organizations by billions.
You CANNOT let them push this through!
The United Nations has ordered the Trump administration to stop detaining illegal aliens. While the UN admits that we have a right to detain illegal aliens, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has determined that our detention facilities do not comply with international standards.
Specifically, the Bachelet declared that the conditions inside America's illegal immigration detention facilities "constitute cruel, inhumane, or degrading treatment that is prohibited by international law." The UN wants these facilities closed and has threatened legal action if the Trump administration doesn't take steps to improve the conditions.
The only reason that the UN is able to do this is because Congress gives them the funding. And it is not just this one agency. UNICEF, the UNHRC, the UNGA, and the United Nations Migration Agency are all filing legal challenges against ICE's detention centers.
But it doesn't even stop there. The United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs has used a disarmament treaty that Obama signed to impose new gun control regulations on companies importing guns into the United States. The UN Green Climate Fund was caught working with EPA officials to impose environmental regulations on the United States that Congress never approved. And even though Pres. Trump cut funding to the United Nations Population Fund because of its forced abortion policy in China and the Third World, these bureaucrats have convinced House Democrats to restore everything Trump cut.
But right now, the GOP is actually negotiating with Democrats over how much funding to give to the United Nations.
None. Cut it all!
H.R.204, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2019, would put a stop to all of this.
The bill would cut ALL funding to the United Nations. The only expenditure allowed would be whatever funding is necessary to "facilitate termination of United States membership and withdrawal of United States personnel and equipment." Every other expenditure would be prohibited.
The UN isn't even pretending anymore. They have openly adopted anti-American policies and are actively trying to chip away at our individual rights and national sovereignty. And they are doing it all using your taxdol lars.
Every time that the United Nations has received US funding, they have used it to chip away at our sovereignty and liberty. Every. Single. Time.
