I warned you. Every time the United States sends funding to the United Nations, it is used to chip away at our freedoms, liberties, and sovereignty.
A little over a week ago, President Trump signed a spending package that sent the UN even more taxpayer funds, essentially saving the organization from bankruptcy. But just days after being saved, the UN voted yesterday to create a new Convention on Cybercrime.
But don't let the name fool you. There are already international treaties governing cybercrime enforcement. This is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to target free speech!
That is why the vote was led by China and Russia. These countries are already policing what their own citizens do and say on the internet. Now, they want to give the United Nations the power to crack down on free speech worldwide!
Remember, they are doing this using YOUR hard earned taxd ollars...
To their credit, the Trump Administration tried to block this resolution from passing. As did the European Union. But ultimately, the bid to create a new Convention on Cybercrime passed in the UN General Assembly.
Both China and Russia helped craft the resolution's language. The new Convention promises to focus on "countering the use of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes."
By "criminal," they mean free speech. The countries that voted for this abomination all have strict laws controlling what people can and cannot say or do on the internet. In China, if someone openly criticizes the government, they can be arrested, interrogated, and even jailed. If protests break out, the Chinese government has been known to shut off internet service to entire sections of the country in order to restore order. Now, the Chinese government wants to take these authoritarian policies worldwide...
Every time that the United Nations receives American funding, they use it to violate our freedoms and sovereignty.
Remember the UN Small Arms Trade Treaty? Barack Obama used the UN to circumvent Congress to impose new gun control regulations on the United States. The same goes for the Paris Climate Treaty. When Congress refused to pass Obama's radical climate agenda, he used the UN to do it for him.
This time, the UN doesn't have a Democrat in the White House to help them trample on Americans' rights. So, they are using China and Russia instead...
And as I said, they are using YOUR taxd ollars to do it.
Just days after receiving funds from the American Treasury, the UN is already trying to chip away at your First Amendment rights!
They must be stopped!
We are launching a campaign today to FORCE Congress to pass the American Sovereignty Restoration Act.
This bill is simple: It would cut off ALL funding to the United Nations. The only approved expenditures would be whatever is necessary to bring US officials and assets back to the United States.
But the bill doesn't just stop there. It would also block UN leadership from ever gaining command over elements of the United States Armed Forces and it would abolish diplomatic immunity for UN officials living or working in the United States.
The American Sovereignty Restoration Act would restore our sovereignty by cutting ties to the number one international organization trying to undermine us!
Democrats and Establishment GOPers want to give the UN even more funding. They want to help these globalists chip away at YOUR rights.
